Overview

The Warrior 64 Wired Controller was released alongside the Warrior 64. The Warrior 64 featured an original Nintendo 64 motherboard inside of a newly manufactured shell that boasts an HDMI port. The console was advertised as offering simultaneous analogue and digital video out. However, a cheap and improperly designed RGB-to-HDMI converter was used. This cheap converter is the same unit offered by companies sound as Pound, Hyperkin and LevelHike, so the output from the console is often in 480i instead of 240p as well as incredibly laggy. More information about the poor quality of the converter, as well as how to properly fix a Warrior 64 console, can be found at RetroRGB.com.

The Warrior 64 Wired Controller was included with each Warrior 64 and was also available separately in unmarked brown cardboard boxes. Unlike other modern "HORI-style" Nintendo 64 controllers such as Retro-Bit's Tribute64, the Warrior 64 Wired Controller appears to have cloned the HORI controller's shell exactly, excluding the HORI and Nintendo 64 logo from the front and back of the HORI controller.

Trivia

IntecGaming refers to this controller's color as black. However, the color is very similar to Nintendo's own Smoke color variant which is a clear grey.
