I was a big fan of point and click adventure games when I was growing up. Though I always tended to prefer LucasArts, there were a few Sierra series I loved as well. Quest for Glory was one of them, and one that unfortunately seems to be a bit overlooked. While many people fondly recall King's Quest or Space Quest, a number of people in my comments section have told me my videos are the first they've heard of this series.

Shadows of Darkness is the 4th Quest for Glory game, and I think it's the best. Like the others, it combines role-playing with adventure in a really great way that gives you multiple ways to solve problems and defeat enemies. This one takes place within eastern European lore and has some very memorable characters and situations. Have you played this series? What do you think of them?

I can't say that 2021 was the best year ever for video games. Many of the games I was looking forward to got delayed. Some came out and just weren't that good. But, there are always gems out there, especially in the indie space. Here are my top 10 games from 2021, which include both indies, major releases, action, racing and a lot of comedy.

Symphony of the Night is a game I've dabbled with over the years. Around the time the PlayStation was current, a friend lent it to me and I had some fun with it before getting lost in the castle and having to give it back. Then I tried playing the digital edition that released for XBox many years later, and fell off it again. I finally sat down to play it for real, from a disc on a PS2, and I absolutely loved it. I've grown a huge appreciation for metroidvanias over the last few years, and this one is still one of the best.

This is a review of one of my favourite PS1 games. Star Ocean The Second Story is an amazing JRPG with a real-time action combat system, great interactions between characters and the most amazing crafting and skill system.

Today I'm reviewing a pair of adorable multi-directional shooters on SNES - it's Pocky & Rocky 1 and 2. These games look similar on the surface but there are a ton of differences between them.

A reboot of the series is supposed to be coming out later this year, but there hasn't been any news about it recently.

Today I'm reviewing an adorable action game for the Sega Genesis. It's a platformer with elements of adventure and roleplaying. But it's also got a bit of a metroidvania flavor that I quite enjoyed. While it starts out a bit slow, it really grew on me.

Today I'm reviewing my favourite FMV game ever - The Pandora Directive - and reflecting on what makes it so great. This year is its 25th anniversary and a remaster is in the works.

Something a little different today, and it's a long one. This video is an overview of my entire video game collection. And a few vinyls. I go over my setups for playing and recording games as well as my collection philosophy and then get into a details of why I own each of these games. My collection focuses mainly on NES, Sega CD, PS1, PS2, Switch, PC big box and all the XBox consoles.

Sewer Shark is one of the first games by Digital Pictures, creators of Night Trap and Double Switch. Like most of these games, it tends to be looked on with a little derision. However, I played it and found out, it's actually good! It combines hammy FMV acting and story with some rail shooting and pattern following that's actually quite engaging. Shoot the tubes, dogmeat!

Today I'm reviewing a horizontal scrolling shooter for the Genesis that has a bit of an easier pace than most games in the genre but also a great sense of style. It's Trouble Shooter!

Today I'm reviewing the only Castlevania game made specifically for a Sega console. Is it a good entry in the series? How does it compare to its Super Nintendo counterpart? I have a number of criticism about how it looks and some of the control limitations, but I had a lot of fun while playing it.

It's been a while since I played any Genesis, but I recently got a Mega SD flash cart, which has opened the library up to me considerably. The past weekend I sat down with the intention of trying out a bunch of games for a few minutes each. When I started up Shinobi 3 though, I found myself unable to put it down and played through the whole thing. Here's what I thought of it.

I just started playing the Suikoden series recently. The first game was a pleasant surprise that I ended up really loving. It is concise and well-paced for a JRPG, full of memorable characters and great moments. After I played it, so many people told me that the sequel was just like this but better in every way. I disagree.

Loom is one of the most beautiful stories that LucasArts Games has produced, telling the story of a young Weaver named Bobbin Threadbare, Chaos, and the Great Loom. This is the story of the game and its development. Warning: I will be spoiling everything from this 30 year old game.

Is this one you played too in the 90s?
