Is anyone else as excited as I am for Battlefield 3? There are many reasons why I am out of my mind excited about this new game.
The first and foremost reason I am so excited about this game is that it is a sequel to Battlefield 2 as opposed to being another of the Bad Company franchise. Don't get me wrong the Bad Company franchise is still good and fun, but lacks a LOT when compared to the full blown PC Battlefield games of yore. (particularly Battlefield 2142 which to this day is my favorite shooter bar none)
Another reason I am so excited about this new Battlefield game is that it looks absolutely stunning even on the consoles. Granted the system is dumbed down a bit on the consoles (only 32 players as opposed to 64, and cut from 60fps to 30fps), but still looks amazing, and even at 30fps it looks smooth.
This game is going to be so epic that I am actually going to get the PC version of the game as well just to see the full blown awesomeness of unbridled Battlefield 3 (64 players and no frame limit, and I'm quite sure my system will run this game nicely, or give me a good excuse to get a better graphics card)
Anyway, are there any other Battlefield fans out there?

I've never played it, but I really would like to someday. Some of my friends keep nagging me that I should buy Battlefield 2, but I just don't have the time to devote to it. Hopefully I'll get around to playing it someday.

Got a squad out of my gamer group already prepped and awaiting release (360 ver.) Our local LAN group is still all about Gears 3, and we planned BF3 to take over our online gaming, if it at all lives up to expectations. Seeing as I prefer Homefront over Call of Duty, this is much more my type of game than Modern Warfare 3.

Store sold out of copies today. Came into work and the line of employees picking up copies was through the lobby and out the door. Had to wait 30 minutes to grab a copy.

...and servers were down quite a bit yesterday. I should get some time to play tonight guys, so please feel free to contact me if you're on Xbox 360.
