Yes, I know.  Here I go again.  I jumped on another Craigslist seller's post and was smiling all the way through.  Admittedly, I didn't know what all games where included when I headed down to buy the lot due to bad cell phone pics.  But can you guess the moment that the shaking and excitement started...?

So, listing description:
Older teen in a smaller town south of here posted a CL listing for 45 NES games for $40.  I will say that many were in dire need of some 409 and a rag, and I have not tested them all yet, but here is what the lot contained.

Notables:
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest [Oval Seal]
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse
Donkey Kong Classics [Oval Seal]   - $7 on VGPC
G.I. Joe: The Atlantis Factor  - $14 on VGPC  GO JOE!
Metal Storm (some label damaged)  - $17.50 on VGPC
Metroid [3 Screw w/Oval Seal] (x2)  - $7 on VGPC
Spider-Man: Return of the Sinister Six (minor label peeling)   - $7 on VGPC
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project  - $10 on VGPC
AND FINALLY............

R.C. Pro-AM II  - $35+ on VGPC .  Sometimes selling for much more, and in great condition after cleaning.  The total asking price was barely more than the single most valuable game!

Remaining games (and many were duplicates therefore trade bait.  Check my FS/T list):

10-Yard Fight [3 Screw], Adventures of Dino Riki, The, Astyanax, Base Wars: Cyber Stadium Series, Bases Loaded II: The Second Season, Bigfoot, Blaster Master [Oval Seal], Captain Skyhawk, Casino Kid, City Connection [Round Seal], Golf [3 Screw w/Round Seal], Karate Kid, The [Round Seal], Kung Fu [3 Screw w/Round Seal], Laser Invasion, Legend of Zelda, The [Classic Series] (ripped label), Life Force, Mickey Mousecapade [Round Seal] (x2), Millipede [Round Seal], Pinball [3 Screw w/Round Seal], R.C. Pro-AM, Rad Racer II, RoboCop, Seicross, Short Order/Egg-Splode!, Silent Service, Silkworm, Stealth ATF, Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt [Seal of Quality] (x2), Tecmo World Wrestling, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Tetris 2, Tetris [Nintendo], Ultimate Stuntman, The.

Yeah. this was seriously worth it.

Nice grab sir!

Nice job!

Please do us all a favor though and remove R.C. Pro-Am II from the Ziploc bag and find an anti-static, acid-free slip instead. Those Ziploc bags will cause it to degrade quicker than if it were exposed to normal air.

Nice pickup, Craigslist sucks around here.

Sadly, in the south S.F. bay area, bona fide deals in the local CraigsListings are few and far between.

'Course, when you live in the heart of the North American tech and video game software industry, you're likely to be pretty keen on what the stuff you're selling is really worth, and you'll do your level best to get as much as you can.

None the less, I've taken advantage of a couple great CraigsListings, each one involving a man going through a divorce. The lesson learned here: you can really clean up by taking advantage of other people's tragedies. Always remember that the game-hunter knows no compassion nor remorse when it comes to tracking down deals...

BTW I should post secondary-market price of each game like you do whenever I brag about my hauls. The only diff is that I'd list the average Half.com selling price instead; it's what I've gone off of since I started collecting.

@Zagnorch:  Someone hooked me up with vgpc.com a.k.a. videogames.pricecharting.com for seeing what games are going for.  They graph history and show recent sales and current listing for Half.com, eBay, Amazon, and JJGames.  Really cool site for anyone that's curious about their investments.

@Shadow Kisuragi:Ziploc bags are made from Polyethylene which is chemically stable and absolutely archival safe and inexpensive.  And anti-static foam is actually made from Polyethylene.  There have been a lot of misconceptions but if it's safe enough to stick your food in, wouldn't it be safe enough to store your games in?  You do want to avoid vinyl (PVC) and Polyester.  Years ago, the pages I was storing my sports cards in were made of vinyl and caused permanent discoloration.  Not a situation I want to see again.

It isn't pretty - the little baggie that it's in, but it also isn't a permanent storage location.

@Techie413:
You've obviously had better luck. The old Ziploc bags I had didn't help at all, static'd some hardware I had, and had issues with the discoloration. May not have been Ziploc brand though.

Oddly enough, my Cheetahmen II cart is in a Ziploc still.

You lucky son of a...!! But seriously, good find. Cheesy

What a coinkydink-- I do all my online resales on the first three, and have made several online sales to the fourth.

Looks like a resource that'll save me a step or two!

Thanks for the heads-up...

Nice grab on R.C. Pro-Am II. I've been looking for that one for a while.

Tons of great playables in that lot. And to echo some others, nice find on the RC Pro Am II! Metal Storm is wicked definitely give it a go.

I would have been thrilled to pick up that lot even for a higher price.

The Denver Craigslist scene leaves a lot to be desired, most of the VG stuff I see are lots of old current gen madden titles overpriced, or older stuff like Atari 2600's for several hundred in the asking price. Nice snag on the metal storm. I played that a ton as a kid and have yet to find it in the wild myself. I wasn't aware of the second pro am for many years as a collector. I played the first to death in my younger years never knowing there was a sequel.
