Show Some Love

With 46 Master Robots to choose from it wasnt actually very difficult to narrow it down to 10. A lot of them are just rehashes of previous robots, really wierd or simply forgettable.

Anyway we'll start at 10 and work our way down.

# 10 - Elec Man

He is by far the most challenging of the original Master Robots. His electric shots take a huge amount of damage from you (like a third of your life meter) and because they are such wide shots they can be quite difficult to handle. I also enjoy his cheesy mask and awesome color scheme so he scores the number 10 spot.

# 9 - Metal Man

Metal Man is essentially the easiest boss from Mega Man 2. Why does he deserve number 9 then? Because he adds some flair to his boss fight by having the floor move back and forth. Before you realize just how easy this boss is its quite intimidating to be unwillingly pulled closer and farther from someone tossing Circular Saw replacement blades at your face.

# 8 - Bomb Man

Bomb Man sneeks into the list for one reason. He's the original weak link in the Mega Man series. Every Mega Man game has at least one boss that is easier than the others to beat with your starting weapon, the Mega Buster. Without this weak link these games would be near impossible to start. So I just wanted to give props to the guy who helps you start your battle against the forces of Dr. Wily.

# 7 - Knight Man

You may notice that this is the only entry on this list from Mega Man 6. There is a reason for this. The elemental Robots from this game are just rehashes of previous robots and the other 4 are just plain wierd. I mean common Centaur Man (the man part is kinda redundant isnt it?), and what the hell is a Yamato? Knight Man is Mega Man 6's saving grace as far as Master Robots go. Thats why he's number 7.

# 6 - Wood Man

Wood Man is here cause he's so trendy. Who would have thought a shield would be a good weapon? Not me. But once he showed everyone a shields awesome offensive power others such as Star Man, Skull Man, Plant Man and even Jewel Man took notice and sported various shields of thier own. Plus he's a stump which is awesome!!

# 5 - Quick Man

This guy is number 5 because he's so freakin crazy hard. Even with the Time Stopper, a weapon which lets you start the battle with Quick Man at half health you still may need to use an Energy Can to replenish your health. He's that beserk. And then you have to fight him again right before the final Wily Battles. And then he comes back in Mega Man 3 to once again frusterate you. What a Jerk.

# 4 - Guts Man

This guy may not be super tough, but he still scares me. He can throw a huge block of.... uh.... hmmmm..... some kind of metal thing with wires and circuts or something, that is about twice the size of Mega Man like it was nothing!! Not only that he's so large and heavy that he shakes the ground enough when he touches it to stun you so that large metal thing can connect cleanly with your groin.

# 3 - Gravity Man

This guy gets huge points for adding some much needed flair to the typical boss battle (with the exception of Metal Man) after 4 tediously awesome games. Instead of just having the floor move around why not stand on opposite sides of the room? Thats right, you'll never touch the floor while gravity man is. He sends you to the roof. That is until he's ready to use it, then your back to the floor. How the heck do you hit him when you can only shoot straight? You've go that split second to connect with him when you are at the same area in the middle of the room during your switch over. Good Luck!

# 2 - Gyro Man

This guy takes his spot for looking like a ninja, plain and simple. He's also one of the more frusterating bosses to fight without the needed equipment, and one of the easiest to fight with. There is something satisfying when you beat someone so tough and cool without getting hit.

# 1 - Gemini Man

This fight is intense!! Not only do you have to fight one really hard Master Robot, but you have to fight two!! When you first start the battle he splits into two robots who run circles around you (they really do) leaping off walls across the whole room while both shooting you with their Arm Cannons. Finally after you manage to kill one of them the other upgrades his gun and shoots a thick lazer beam that ricochets around the room until it drains some more white bars from your health meter. Good thing he's afraid of snakes. Wuss.

So that concludes the first Top/Bottom Mega Man list. Please let me know your comments and if you agree/disagree, what your list would look like and what list you would like to see next.

Good list, I like your choices, I would've had Skullman on list of my own, mostly because I like his design. Anyway, looking forward to seeing your other lists.

@Nionel

I really like Skull Man too. Definately the highlight of Mega Man 4. I realized after I made the list that no one from 4 made it, but Skull Man, Ring Man and Pharoah Man all still rock.

Pretty good list. I didn't care much for elec man or bomb man though, but they are still great. Good call on Gemini and Gyro Man. Are you doing Megaman and Bass as well? Burner Man is definitely one of my favorites simply due to how the battle plays out.

Glad you liked it Shimra and thanks for the feedback. Unfortanutely I wont be doing Megaman & Bass because I've never played it. If I ever come across it I'll be sure to pick it up though.

Yeah no problem at all. Mega Man had such a huge impact on my childhood that it's hard not to absolutely love this blog series. What's even cooler is that I absolutely love every Mega Man game (with 8 being the exception, not bad but not incredibly fun) so even if I say 'I don't care for' I still like the character/level/etc just not as much as the others in the series.

I can completely agree with you. I was only midly interested in gaming until I saw my cousin playing Mega Man 2 and it blew me away. I've loved it ever since. While 7 & 8 may not be up to par (the bar was set high) they are still definately worth playing. I'm glad to know there are other gamers out there that appreciate this series still and havnt forgotten about it.

Mega Man rocks the hardcore, many of today's finest game got their start on NES or SNES,I'm proud to see Mega Man still rocking today
