Note: This is an old blog I forgot to publish after writing...

GamerNick and I went out to kill some time before he made his "small" score yesterday.  Half Price Books, and a Gamers location were on the menu for the morning.  I ended up finding some goodies at both stores, and some packages arrived in the mail as well.

First up are the contents of the packages.  Mortal Kombat 3 for Genesis, Primal Rage for SNES, Golgo 13: Top Secret Episode, Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers, Kung Fu, and Pinball for NES.  and my first Ebay purchase, Final Fantasy Origins to replace my incomplete copy.

Next we have some finds from HPB and Gamers.  Dragon Quest VIII to replace an incomplete copy I had, Fighting Vipers for Saturn, Wrecking Crew for NES.  Midnight Magic, Indy 500, and Space Jockey for Atari 2600.  Medal of Honor and Einhander for Playstation.  Einhander was bought by Nick to repay me for some games I bought for him on another hunt.

After that it was time for Nick to go pick up his "small" score, and while he was doing that I took some time to browse through lose carts at the same shop and cut a little deal for some fillers and stuff I wanted.  Zone of Enders: The 2nd Runner for PS2.  A bunch of black box NES titles... Clu Clu Land, Baseball, Volleyball, Urban Champion, Pro Wrestling.  A couple Tengen carts, Afterburner and Vindicators.  Dungeon Magic w/ manual, Lemmings, Strider, Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates, Ultima: Exodus, Dragon Power, Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu, Guardian Legend, and Baseball Stars.

Nick was kind enough to hook me up with some of the boxes he didn't need for his collection...

And some loose carts to fill out my collection!  mmm, Dragon Warrior IV, Mega Man, and Mighty Final Fight...  good stuff.

What started out as me buying an Atari Jaguar from Singlebanana turned into buying a lot of Odyssey 2 stuff as well.

I ended up with a Magnavox Odyssey 2 (hardwired controllers), and 21 games in total...

The games were all boxed, which is awesome, I started falling in love with the O^2 boxes I kept seeing on here and had to get some for myself.

Alien Invaders - Plus!
Alpine Skiing!
Armored Encounter!/Sub Chase!
Baseball!
Blockout!/Breakdown!
Bowling!/Basketball!
Computer Golf!
Conquest of the World! (all the pieces are there, oh baby!)
Cosmic Conflict!
Football!
Freedom Fighters!
K.C. Munchkin!
Las Vegas Blackjack!
Monkeyshines!
Out of this World!/Helicopter Rescue!
P.T. Barnum's Acrobats!
Pachinko!
Pick Axe Pete!
Showdown in 2100 A.D.
Speedway!/Spinout!/Crypto-logic!
U.F.O.!

Magnavox seemed to think they all needed exclamation points to emphasize the awesomeness of the games...

and here we have the Atari Shaguar, in all it's glory!

Picked up the console, two controllers, the hookups, and Cybermorph, Raiden, and Checkered Flag.

Once again Nick and I headed out early in the morning, into the wilderness that is Omaha...  in search of all things great and gaming.  That was Tuesday.  Today, Friday, I sit here in a Nyquil haze... cleaning, taking pictures, cataloging, and stuffing my face with cold pizza.  Ah.. Nyquil... The Green Death.  The Nyquil haze is thanks to contracting only what I can describe as the plague from a coworker, all fun and games, until the Nyquil wears off and the maladies of the plague return with a vengeance.  Anywho, on with the show...

The first image, as seen in the small scores thread, are a pair of CiB SNES Star Wars games.  Super Star Wars and Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.. Ordered these from Lukie Games on Monday and they arrived Wednesday.

Next up are some scores from a stop at CD Tradepost on Monday.  Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete, GTA Collectors Edition, Williams Arcade's Greatest Hits, Activision Classics, and Air Combat, all on PS1.  Soul Calibur II and...  Soul Calibur II, different systems.. yeah.  Street Fighter Anniversary Collection for XBox, Virtua Fighter for 32X, and then some Game Gear carts... Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Streets of Rage.

Onward to Tuesday morning...  a trip to HPB yielded a couple strategy guides for Twilight Princess (Gamecube version) and Dirge of Cerberus, as well as couple GC games.  Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader, and some weirdo preview disc for Rogue Squadron III.

After leaving HPB we hit up a couple Gamers locations, one of those new Game Central stores (new to our area at least) that Nick mentioned last week, and Ben's Game Room.

I found Mega Man X7 (PS2) and Tomb Raider II at Game Central.  At Gamers I found Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Xenogears, Threads of Fate, Mega Man X6, a copy of GTA collector's edition to fill out the incomplete one I had last week.  At Ben's Game Room I snagged up Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider III w/ strategy guide, a matching controller for the PSOne I got last week, Goldeneye 007, and a lose copy of Super Star Wars (because I'm anal and don't like to open/close boxes over and over when I want to play a game).

It seems the theme for the week was Playstation, with a sub-theme of Tomb Raider.

Starting on New Years Eve and into the first week of January I found a bunch of stuff...  a few good finds, some just bulk for the collection, some just for gits and shiggles.  I'll keep this as short as possible, bunch of pictures with titles listed.  I'm feeling a bit lazy today and don't feel up to sorting it all by locations found and prices.  Anywho, here we go.

Bunch of Playstation games:
Cool Boarders 2 (GH)
Cool Boarders 3 (GH)
Cool Boarders 4
Tomb Raider Chronicles
The Italian Job
Grand Theft Auto 2
Grand Theft Auto London
Jet Moto 3
NBA Jam Extreme

Game Cube:
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (already had this, but was missing the manual and original box)
Metroid Prime 2 Echoes

Sega Saturn:
Virtua Racing
NBA Jam TE

Dreamcast:
Vanishing Point

XBox:
Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller

Nintendo DS:
Star Fox Command

NES:
Karnov
Fester's Quest
Donkey Kong Classics

SNES:
Super Return of the Jedi

N64:
Lego Racers
Hexen
South Park
South Park: Chef's Love Shack
Star Wars Shadows of the Empire
Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time (CiB)

32X:
Mortal Kombat II

Playstation:
Chrono Cross (I already had the GH version)

Pile o' PS2 games:
Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland
Full Metal Alchemist and the Broken Angel
Tekken 4
Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories
Crazy Taxi
Romancing Saga
Dirge of Cerberus
Midnight Club: Dub Edition Remix (GH)

More PS2...
Metal Slug 4/5
Gradius III and IV
Family Guy
R-Type Final

and a couple strategy guides for Crazy Taxi 2 and 3.

With all of these additions to my collection, and finally getting around to adding games from Steam to my collection I finally rolled over 700 entries.  So there's a small milestone down already for the year.

On a side note:  I'm also looking for a Famicom system to add to my collection to go with all of the Famicom games I picked up from senseiman in October last year.  If anyone has any leads on one that is in good working order, with little to no yellowing, I'd be grateful.  I'm still a little leery of buying off of Ebay, and would prefer to buy from within our community here, or friends of the community.

After fighting with the stomach flu for nearly two weeks, I finally felt well enough to go out hunting for games again with Nick (niceguy1283).

Starting off this blog of mindless drivel is a few loose carts I picked up from Duke.Togo earlier in the month.  Metroid (yellow label), and Double Dragon II on the NES.  Sonic and Knuckles for Genesis, Tetris and Dr. Mario for SNES, and Mario Kart 64.

Next we have the focus of my latest spending spree, I've been wanting one for a while and finally managed to pick up a Sega Saturn.

Managed to find a few games for the Saturn...  Virtua Fighter 2, Sonic 3D Blast, Road Rash, Tomb Raider, Sonic Jam, Virtua Cop (not for resale), Daytona USA (not for resale), and another copy of Virtua fighter 2, but in the not for resale paper sleeve.

Other things I came across were Mach Rider for NES, Final Fantasy: Charlies Angels er.. X-2 for PS2, Gameshark lite for Dreamcast, and a CIB copy of Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts.

Monday was Nick's Birthday and we made plans to go on a morning game hunt.   We visited the usual places, Half Price Books, a couple Gamers locations, and Game Vault.

Half Price Books yielded a couple games for me, a strategy guide, and some manga from the clearance section.

[

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex (GC) 4.99
Zone of the Enders (PS2) 9.99
Gran Tourismo 3 A-Spec (PS2) 1.00 in clearance
Gangster Town (SMS) 6.99
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory strat guide 2.00 in clearance

At Gamers 002 I picked up a Sega Master System, a handful of SMS games, a Genesis game, and Pitfall II for 2600 (Nick bought that and gave it to me as part of a later trade.)

Choplifter (SMS) 3.95
Rambo II (SMS) 3.95
Double Dragon (SMS) 3.95
Aerobiz (Genesis) 7.95
Pitfall II (2600) (trade)
Sega Master System 39.95

After leaving Gamers 002, we went over to Gamers 001.  I didn't get anything there for myself, but picked up a CIB copy of Nosferatu SNES for Nick's birthday.  The moron behind the counter tried to rip off the plastic but we managed to stop him before he totally killed it.

After that we made a run over to Game Vault, picked up a boxed copy of BomberMan 64, and Xenosaga II to complete the set of three.

BomberMan 64 (N64) 19.95
Xenosaga II (PS2) 9.95

The next few items were picked up in trade from Nick at the end of the hunt, random stuff I didn't have, as well as a light gun for my SMS.

Super Bases Loaded w/ manual (SNES)
Iron Tank w/ manual (NES)
Out Run (SMS)
Asterix and The Great Rescue (Genesis)
Captain America and The Avengers (Genesis)
First to Fight (XBox)
Light Gun for the SMS

Later in the week on Wednesday while I was out running errands I stopped at CD Tradepost and found a few odds and ends, they were having a buy one, get one half off sale.

Shadow the Hedgehog players choice (GC) 8.99
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex (PS2) 2.99
Pokemon Stadium (N64) 8.99
Twisted Metal 4 (PS1) 2.99

and on a personal note, another milestone in my collection... I broke 600! If I ever get around to adding the rest of my Steam games I'll be past 700 XD

I'm a couple days late in posting this blog, work has been hectic with Thanksgiving approaching and I've found myself too tired to do much of anything after work.  But here we go!  Made some trades with Nick for some stuff I wanted and a few random items, and we hit up some of the usual spots we frequent.

While I was out running some errands I stopped at CD Tadepost and picked up Tekken 3 for Playstation, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (players choice) for Gamecube, and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow fr the Xbox 360.  I also made a quick stop at Gamestop and picked up Need For Speed: The Run on 360 so I could play it online with a friend who recently moved out of state.

A couple of days later Nick and I went out browsing some stores and I came across some fun stuff, fun in my opinion at least.  Half Price Books yielded a copy of Syphon Filter and Tekken (greatest hits) for Playstation, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater for PS2, and a couple World of Warcraft books.  One is a manga and the other is a novel.  (Can't help it, I'm a WoW geek.)

Next we stopped at Gamers, one of the employees there remembered that last time I was there I had been looking for a TV/Power Switch box for the Atari 5200 and he pulls one out from behind the counter for me.  That guy is totally awesome in my book.  We spent some time digging through a bunch of Playstation and Dreamcast games and I snagged Tekken 2, and Crash Bandicoot (greatest hits) for Playstation, Crazy Taxi (sega all stars) and Typing of the Dead for Dreamcast.

We rummaged through a box of Sega related hardware for a while and I picked up a Dreamcast Keyboard in great condition, and a Sega Genesis Mouse *makes shifty eyes at Shadow Kisuragi*.

Last stop bfore heading back to Nick's house to pick up the stuff I was trading him for I grabbed some SNES games.  Super Bomberman, TMNT: Tournament Fighters, and F-Zero.

At Nick's place I got a few cool things and some random stuff to add to my collection.  Dead Rising 2: Zombrex Edition for 360, Aero Dancing (AeroWings in the US) Japanese import for Dreamcast, and Parasite Eve Japanese import for Playstation.  Frankenstein: the Monster Returns, Cool World, Fighting Golf (title amused me), MC Kids, and Willow for NES. Virtua Racing Deluxe for 32X, and last but not least, Pitfall II for C64, and Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, and NFL Football for Intellivision.  Not that I own a C64 of Intellivision yet, but might as well get some carts for when I finally bite the bullet and get them.

Went out hunting games with niceguy1283 again, with the initial goal of picking up a Genesis 2 and a Sega 32X for the hell of it.  We started at the usual place, Half Price Books.
Bought a copy of Sonic the Hedgehog (NFR) and Streets of Rage while we were there killing time, both complete. Six bucks each.  Found a Super Mario Advance strategy guide for
two dollars also.  From there we headed off towards the next stop, one of the Gamers locations in town.

Did some scrounging through some boxes of random new crap they had just bought in from customers.  Found a couple Atari 2600 games for a buck each, Sneak'n Peek, and
Ms. Pac-Man.  Just for the hell of it I bought Dreamcast Web Browser 2.0, useless, but dirt cheap.

Onward to the second Gamers store location we frequent, found a 32X and a Genesis 2 here for 45 bucks total, not the cheapest in the world, but things are drying up around
here lately.  Also found copies of Mega Bomberman and TMNT Tournament Fighters on Genesis for 5 bucks each.  Shadow Squadron for 32X for 2 dollars, Final Fantasy Legend II
for 7 dollars.

As we headed out of Omaha and back across the river to our home ground, we stopped at another local shop we like.  Found a complete copy of Parasite Eve for 15 dollars, sadly the
cheapest I've managed to find it locally.  I got a few things from Nick in a trade, Power Stone (JPN) for Dreamcast, Paperboy for Game By with manual, Fist of the North Star and
Robocop on NES, Legend of the Mystical Ninja on SNES, Star Wars Arcade for 32X and a 6 button Genesis controller.

After getting home and disconnecting my old Genesis 1 and hooking up the Genesis 2, I discovered the console wouldn't stay powered on without jiggling the power cord.  I tore it down
and cleaned out the dust bunnies that had moved in over the years.  After inspecting the power socket I discovered two of the three solder points on the socket had been cracked.
After getting a bit irritated at the "guaranteed to work"  policy Gamers has,and not wanting to drive all the way back over there, I dug out the soldering iron and re-soldered the
connections and reassembled the console. Plugged it in and it works like a champ now.

Couple days later I was out running errands and made quick stops at CD Tradepost and a local comic book store,  picked up Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, and Contra Shattered Soldier
for the PS2 and a strat guide for Xenosaga Episode 1.

Nurse, solder! STAT!

All better!

Once again Nick and I hit up some of our usual stores in Omaha and tried to find some interesting things.

First stop of the morning was Half Price Books.  This has got to be one of my favorite stores.  Not only do they have decently priced games on occasion, I love browsing through all of the books.
- Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Limited Collectors Edition.  $4.99
- Brady Games Final Fantasy X strategy guide.  $6.99

Found a few other items there of interest, not really gaming related but stuff I liked.
- Seven of the Age of Apocalypse Ultimate Editions.  $3 each in the clearance rack.
- A few random Neon Genesis Evangelion comic books.  50 cents each.
- Bleach volume 1 from the clearance rack.  $1
- Halo Legends blu-ray - $12.99
- Avatar Blu-Ray Collectors Edition - $13.99 (picked up at CD Tradepost)

We made our way to a couple of the Gamers store locations and made a couple purchases.
I was amazed they had a bunch of Dreamcast titles for once,  mostly sports as always, but I dug out a couple that looked like fun.

- Towering Inferno, Commando Raid, Spider-Man, Freeway,
and Warlords (Sears branded).  95 cents each.
- Luigi's Mansion, Game Cube.  $16.95
- Ninja Gaiden, NES, cart only.  $6.95
- Mega Man X4, Playstation.  Black label to replace my GH version.  $6.95
- Gears of War 2 Limited Edition to round out my Gears titles. $19.95
- Crazy Taxi 2, Dreamcast.  $6.95
- Sega Smash Pack Volume 1, Dreamcast.  $10.95
- Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Dreamcast. $12.95
- Ready 2 Rumble Boxing, Dreamcast.  $1.95

Last few games I bought at CD Tradepost, Ben's Game Room, and a local pawn shop I can't recall the name of.  Finally snagged Pokemon Black at Ben's Game Room for 25 bucks, cheapest I've found locally.  Priciest thing I bought all day ended up being Mega Man 5 for 40 dollars. At $40, it still felt a bit pricey to me, but it's the cheapest I've found in my area by 15 dollars.

- Ms. Pac-Man, SNES, cart only.  $5.95
- Frogger, Atari 2600.  95 cents
- Hogan's Alley, NES, cart only. $2.99
- Pokemon Black, Nintendo DS.  $25.00
- Mega Man 5, NES, cart only.  $40.00

Now I just need to locate a copy of Mega Man 1 and I will have all six releases for the NES.  And then I just have to find the boxes and manuals for them all! *grumbles*

Lastly I snagged an Atari 5200, and some games, on the cheap from Nick, minus the weirdo power/tv switch box.
So if anyone has one lying around collecting dust they want to part with, gimme a yell!
He also gave me a SFC game, some sort of pachinko I think, and some cartridge cases for free.
Free stuff is the best stuff.

Started the day out at Nick's place, fooling around with his Super Famicom and trying to decipher Japanese.  Bought a couple Famicom Games from him and his brother and decided to hit a couple pawn shops, a collectible store, and a little game shop.

After messing around with the Super Famicom, and coming to the conclusion that neither of us undertstand Japanses very well.  We laughed a bit at the bouncing boobies in Bing Bing! Bingo,  I bought a copy of Ultima 4 and Tetris for Famicom from Nick and his brother.  After that we decided to hit the road and visit a couple shops around town.

First stop was a pawn shop, I picked up Onimusha, and Onimusha 3 there for 4 dollars each.  We headed down the street to another pawn shop and found a copy of Onimusha 2 there for 7.77.

After that we visited one of our common stops and I found a fat boy PS2 complete with the box and all of the foam inserts. It even included a memory card for 59.99.   I ended up buying this because of the PS2 slim looking out of place on my game shelf with all of the other "large systems."

Other reasons being, for some reason PS2's seem to be in short supply in my area, and when you can find them.. they're around 40 dollars. And then they want 10 for a memory card for some damned reason.  So I felt that 10 dollars more than that was worth a fat PS2 in the box with all the stuffing and original manuals.

On to another gaming shop we've both had good luck at...
I picked up a boxed copy of Rush'n Attack for NES, minus the manual for 7.95, and Mass Effect for XBox 360 for 14.95.

Off we went to CD Tradepost and Best Buy.  I ended up using some reward points and bought Paper Mario on N64 for around 11 dollars at CD Tradepost.   At Best Buy, Nick pointed out that the Gears of War 3 Epic Edition had been marked down to 49.99 and I figured, "What the hell."  Picked that up.  Now I just need to get my hands on a copy of Gears 2 and I can play through the storyline and see what all the fuss is about.

Last stop of the day was at Toys 'R Us, Nick was hoping to pick up Diablo 3 cheap.  The local Toys 'R Us was selling most of it's PC games for 10 dollars in an effort to clear their inventory before they get out of the PC game business at that location.  No such luck, all of the 10 dollar Diablo 3's were gone.

I however, ended up picking up The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks for 20 dollars.  No picture of that one, it's still in the glove box of my car and I'm feeling lazy.  But I'm pretty sure that completes my Zelda collection, outside of the CD-I released and LCD games.

Saturday morning, after work I was chilling in the recliner and stuffing my face with pizza when Nick sends me a text message with a picture of a six switch Atari 2600 sitting on the counter of our local comic book store with a bag of games next to it.  I've been scrounging around most of the shops that we know of in our area looking for a Heavy Sixer Atri 2600 for a while now and haven't had any luck.  I get down there and check it out, indeed it is a six switch Atari 2600, with a bag of assorted games for 50 dollars.  The impulse buying gremlins in my brain went, "WOO BUY IT!"  And so I did.  Snagged copies of Mega Man 3 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: The Manhattan Project while I was there too.

It's got some wear on it, which I expected, it's 30+ years old after all.  The AC adaptor is an aftermarket replacement, and there's no TV switch box, but the owner of the shop included the adaptor that allows you to plug it right into the coax line-in on your TV.  I start looking up restoration guides on the mighty Google to see what all I can do to restore some of it's former glory, and after some research I learn some more.  Turns out I have a "Light Sixer" instead.   I'm not upset it isn't a "Heavy Sixer," I'm actually just happy that I've got one with six switches now.  That, and I know the difference between the two now, and how to identify one.  Anyhow, I feel OK with the purchase, as it added a bunch of games to my collection, and another console.

The Bag O' Games consisted of:
Gyruss
E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial
Joust
Demons to Diamonds
Air Sea Battle (picture label)
Crystal Castles
Venture
Warlords
Pole Position
RealSports Tennis
Space War (picture label)
Missile Command
Donkey Kong (Coleco)
Donkey Kong Jr. (Coleco)
Laser Blast
Othello (picture label)
Galaxian
Vanguard
Super Challenge Baseball (M Network) {not in the picture}

Thursday morning Nick (niceguy1283) and I decided to hit a few stores around Omaha and see what we could find.

Started the day off early at Half Price Books, picked up a couple things there.  Strategy guide for .hack Mutation for 7 bucks,
and Mass Effect 2 Collectors Edition for 20 bucks.

After that we worked our way around to the various Gamers stores in the area (gaming store chain in NE and IA).
Picked up Pac-Man, Maze Craze, Stampede, Pitfall II, Keystone Kapers, Space  Invaders, and Burgertime for the Atari 2600 at a dollar each.
I also picked up a copy of Super Mario Bros. complete in box for 5 bucks, and a copy of the Final Fantasy XIII Official Guide Collectors Edition.

Next stop was at the Game Vault.  Picked up a set of Atari 2600 paddles, Sears branded, for $2.95.  (in previous photo)
Guides for Halo 3, Reach, and ODST for 9.90 total (buy two get one free).  When the guy at the counter mentioned
their buy two get one free deal on handheld game carts, I snagged Pokemon Yellow, Pokemon Blue, and Pokemon FireRed.
Paid 29.95, 24.95, and FREE for those, in that order.  I hate how stupid expensive Pokemon games seem to have gotten,
but I figured I might as well bite the bullet.  What the hell, one was free.

As I let my eyes wander around the retro console area of the store I noticed a Sega Dreamcast Sports Edition up behind the counter.
I had to have it seeing as it's the only one I've seen locally, and onto my total it went for $34.95.

I also ended up with a copy of Nightmare Creatures II for DC, and a Transfer Pak for the N64.

Last stop was at Ben's Game Room.   Picked up some manuals I didn't have, Super Mario World, Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core,
ending with Super Mario Advance 2 and 4 for 50 cents each. Resident Evil 3: Nemesis for the Playstation, 15 dollars,
and Burgertime for NES with the manual, 6 dollars.  Burgertime I had to get since it holds a bit of nostalgia for me.
My friends and I used to play it pretty often at our babysitter's house.  So while it may not be a fantastic or rare gem, I had to snag it.
I also picked up Wild Metal for DC for , and a couple Dreamcast Magazine discs for a buck each.

I should also mention over the course of the day I picked up a couple things to work out a trade with Nick.
I picked up a Halo XBox, and a copy of Battletoads in Battlemaniacs complete in box that he wanted to add to his collection,
and I think it was Baldur's Gate II for PC.
When we got back to his place at the end of the trip I swapped him those items for an Atari 2600 four switch switch system
and oddly enough a box for the six switch system.  It also came with a handful of games.
Sure, it doesn't match the system, but it's a 30 year old box, I'm amazed it's still in one piece!

He also tossed in some Master System game carts, knowing I plan to buy one eventually and would need some games to go with it.

All in all I feel it was another successful day of hunting for me, expanding my retro collection, and adding some more to my modern console collection.

Posted under Collecting, Road Trip

Thursday morning niceguy1283 and I hopped in my car and headed out to Lincoln, Nebraska.  Plans were to hit up a a pawn shop, a couple Gamers locations, and the two Game Room stores.
I came across some decent stuff and and splurged a bit at the end of the trip by picking up a XBox 360 S 250GB console for 199.95. Felt like a good deal to me.

I didn't sort out the items by location found when I was taking pictures, but meh.

First up we have Jurassic Park: The Chaos Continues CIB, and Street Fighter II Turbo on the SNES.  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: the Arcade Game on NES.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War on XBox,
Neo Contra for the PS2, Championship PRO-AM and Sonic Spinball on Genesis.
Ending with Earthworm Jim 3D on N64.

Next image.  Xenosaga 1 for PS2, Final Fantasy Chronicles for PS, Super Paper Mario and Super Mario All Stars 25th Anniversary Edition on Wii, and Gears of War limited collectors edition on XBox 360.

Next couple images are the results of me recently playing Halo and Halo 2 on the original XBox and wanting to see where the rest of the games went story-wise.

Here we have Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition,  Halo 3 limited edition, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo: Reach limited edition.

The Halo: Reach limited edition I picked up in a trade with niceguy1283, as well as the items in the image below.  Doom 32X, Mario is Missing NES, Super Mario Bros/Duckhunt with manual.
You might be asking yourself, "Why didn't he have this common freaking game?!"  I didn't have this. When I originally got my NES back in 1985 it was bundled only with Super Mario Bros.
Last but not least, Pocket Bomberman on GBC.

We came across a Mass Effect Limited Edition at our last stop of the day for the low price of 59.99, he wanted it, and I wanted his Halo: Reach.
Sure, the Mass Effect is more than likely worth more than the Halo, but I have all the Mass Effect games on PC and don't care enough to get them on console now.  So to me it was an even trade.

I picked up some PS3 games, but somehow managed to forget to take a picture.  Guess that doesn't really matter, they're newer and they're like belly buttons.  Everyone's got 'em.
Uncharted, and Uncharted 2 GOTY, as well as Metal Gear Solid 4.
Bought a later model Genesis control pad also.  Hopefully it's one with the redesigned D-Pad mechanism, my original "red letter" pad is feeling a bit mushy.

All in all, it felt like a good day of hunting.  I probably spent more than I should have at the end of the trip, but at least I'm all caught up to the current generation of consoles!

As the title says, CD Tradepost was having a 42% off sale in honor of their owners 42nd birthday.  So I decided to raid a couple of the stores they have in my area and see what I could find.  Nothing overly exciting, but a few games I was wanting or that just caught my eye.

First, a few XBox games.  My XBox collection is lacking, I bought the console pretty much at the end of it's life and only had four or five games since then. Figured it was about time to add some more to the pile.

Doom 3, Castlevania: Curse of Darkness, Halo: Combat Evolved, Red Dead Revolver, Capcom Classics Collection vol 1, Ninja Gaiden, Mechassault, and Midway Arcade Treasures 1,2, and 3.

For the Genesis; Sonic the Hedgehog. On the PS2; Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy, Mega Man Anniversary Collection.  Nightmare Creatures for the Playstation, and SoulCalibur for Dreamcast.

Not a lot going on here.  Just a few pictures and words about things I came across during the month of August.

First picture... it probably won't get many hearts racing.  I haven't noticed much love around here for the Dreamcast, but it was something I didn't have.

Next image.  For the PS1, Final Fantasy Anthology, and Contra: Legacy of War.  Star Fox Assault for Gamecube,  and some Sega Genesis boxes/manuals I needed (Thanks niceguy1283!)

A bunch of GBA and GBC games here, and one SNES cart.

Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Seasons.  Pokemon Gold, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald.  Mega Man Xtreme 2, Golden Sun, Golden Sun: The Lost Age, Shining Soul, Shining Soul II, and Earthworm Jim 2.

And finally, a slightly battered Brady Games guide for Kingdom Hearts.  and what I consider one of the best finds this month outside of the Chrono Trigger CIB, and Final Fantasy CIB that I mentioned in my first blog.   Black Label Final Fantasy VII, and the Brady Games official strategy guide.   Came in a package deal for about 50 bucks.  Felt a bit pricy, but damn it, I wanted it.  That makes two complete black label FF7's in my collection.
