Yes, remember them? They were once the greatest game publishers in the cult-phenomenom demographic, getting the rights to popular Japanese titles for small systems (Sega CD and Turbograpfx CD mainly, but the Playstation was small when they started publishing games for it) and giving them the red-carpet treatment to America, great voice acting and glossy front covers. Then the 2000s came and...yeah...

But now that I've got your attention, I've got my first Working Designs game! Read on to see!

Working Designs released 4 games for the Sega CD, Lunar 1 and 2, Popful Mail (which I want) and what has been in the post for me, Vay!

I was amazed this appeared on eBay UK, even with a reasonable starting price (15), thankfully this game isn't as big or as recognisable as Lunar so I got it for 17.75.

Because of A Levels and my 5 day a week cleaning job, I've been really busy, I want to get more games but I need to have the time to get them. I've also got a brand new gam for my DS, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, BEST GAMEPLAY EVER!!!

Amount Paid: 17.75
Total cost: 503.39

I am a little surprised that there was no mention of their Saturn contribution. Heck their translation of Dragon Force became the official English version that even SEGA themselves published over in PAL regions. That and that they also brought out the last official Saturn game Magic Knight Rayearth in the US.

Can't remember their user names, but the ex-employees of Working Designs have actually appeared on eBay in the past selling really great collectables that are no longer available. I picked up a Shining Wisdom poster and pin during that time. A signed copy of Dragon Force was also up for grabs, but I was outbidded.

I also have to say I am somewhat curious about Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.

I'd love to snag those Lunar games for the Sega CD. I own the second one on the PS and its excellent. I've yet to get around to a couple of the Saturn Working Design games ive got, but I plan to enjoy them soon!!

Nice Grab

I wish they were still around. I still need to play Lunar 2 and Arc the Lad Collection.

The first time I played Silpheed on PS2 I was shocked that the colors, graphics, motions etc were very cool.  I loved it and played it alot when I first got it at a yard sale for 2 dollars.

I definately need to get more of the working designs games. I am sure they are just as fun to play.

Great games, crappy localizations in my opinion...

@Rajaat the Warbringer: Rajaat and I debate about this alot, but I think WD had some of the best localizations at that time.

While the translations had their own kind of humor in there, which could turn some people off, they were pretty spot on. No other company during the Sega CD and Saturn era made me feel like they really gave a damn while translating.

Sorry to rant. Enjoy Vay!
