Collection Description:
Started playing games on consoles I don't even remember.  Was too young to even know what they were.  Then we moved on to the Atari 2600 and 5200.  Around 1987 I got my Nintendo NES for having straight A's on my report card.  That's when I started to get heavy into video games.  Eventually, the Turbografx-16 came out, and I was impressed but didn't get one.  When the Sega Genesis came out in 1989 I just had to own one, and asked for one for Christmas.  I didn't really think that I would get it but the Gods were good to me that day.  I got my Sega Genesis and a new TV to play it on.  From then on out, I was hooked on Sega.  I ended up getting the Super NES and Turbo-grafx over the years, but they didn't have an effect on me like the Sega Genesis.  I got a Sega CD a few Christmas's following that.  Eventually I grew up and moved out of the house and pretty much dumped all my consoles and went to the PS1 and then Dreamcast.  During those years I started noticing all of my classic games that I grew up with at the thrift stores for a couple bucks each.  I started picking them up in large amounts.  Selling the ones that I didn't want to keep, and keeping the good ones.  Now I purchase games mainly one at a time, whatever I feel is worth my hard earned cash.  I have weeded out all of the crappy games out of my collection, and while I only have about 600 games currently (6/2/2011) - I feel they are all QUALITY games.  Very very few sports titles and junk, and only a couple of dupes.  Most carts and cd games are very clean with little to no grit, grime, marker, or stickers.

The years between 1989 and 1994 is what my collection primarily consists of.

NOTE:  Still have yet to add Virtual Console and WiiWare titles.
