Title: New Car
Post by: Zimbacca on April 06, 2006, 02:25:36 PM
I know I've mentioned this before, but I figured we don't get enough new topics plus I have a picture of it now.
Today I had to go get new tags, an oil change, and transfer the title for my car.   Totally, including paying for both the car and licensing, it cost me around $2135

Our first car (me & Mrs Jag) was a 91 Taurus wagon.  Great car, drove really well, decent mileage, dependable.  Then, Ford did a recall on the tranny and "fixed" it.  Well, after they "fixed" the car, you would get whiplash every time it shifted!
Needless to say, we got rid of it soon afterwards...

As long as it's pre '94.  I hate the body change.

I have had three of them, I think first one was an 87, then I had a 91 and a 96.  They all served me well.  Much better than the POS Chrysler Concord I just had to dump.

It's in really good condition, and it only has 87,000 miles on it.  The Saturn wagon that I've been driving has about 214,000 miles on it.  It runs great, and the guy had just put changed the hoses, breaks, and tires right before I bought it.

Sorry to bump an old topic!

I have a '96 Ford Taurus, my folks paid 2K for it, had 48,936 miles when I got it. It is now just starting to rust -- I got a hole in the fender for some reason. The subframe, floors and just about everything else is solid however. I LOVE this car. Great for my first car.

Great car. Handles great, tough as nails, peppy. I love big cars and a sofa on wheels is NOT a bad thing. Sure beats driving an econobox.

Taurus's are not as bad as you think. I'd love to take a '79-'86 Mustang and put a 3.0L in it. No 5.0l, but I just love the 3.0 engine.
