If there are countless universes each with an ifininite number stars, it only suggests that there is an infinite chance that there is other life out there. Hell, there may even be life in this solarsystem, albeit microbial. I seriously doubt that life on earth was an anomaly, and that we are the only one's in the massive vastness of space.

Laugh if you may but many people are looking into it and think it may be a fact. I think what is mostly fueling the research is looking Quantum Physics which cannot account for particles changing/appearing/dissapearing in ways that defy our understanding of the laws of physics. See, "Zombie Planet" would be way too obvious, being that it is a planet and all. But if it got named "Zombie Island" it would throw everyone off and they'd be like "what, there's an island floating in space covered in zombies?!" and we'd just laugh at how stupid they are to think there is an island in space.
