I'm going.  |D

I'll be leaving Detroit at around 7 am and hopefully arriving before noon.  I'm going to bring my meager trade box, so if anybody needs any commons, I'm the guy to see.

I wanted to really bad.

I won't be able to though.
Hopefully they run it again next year and not in another 5.
Though another longer might be better off for me....

Well, is it bad that I had no idea where the Fairfield Convention Center is?

Since it is in Fairfield, everyone who isn't from Cincy should take the time to stop at Jungle Jims, which is also on Dixie. It will be a grocery that you'll never forget.

If I can get Eddie to go, I will go.

I should print out a bunch of cards or something for this. It'll give me a chance to use my laser printer. I knew I didn't just buy that thing to compensate for the size of my penis.

I'm bringing whats left of the RFG business cards I had made up. I'll give everyone a stack so we can pass them out.

a few more couldn't hurt if you want to play with your laser penis... I mean printer.

If I show up, I'll be wearing either a Mega Man Shirt or one of my three extremely geeky shirts.

FYI for those heading here from outside of the region:
Gas as of today is between 2.69 and 2.75 in the metro region. As such, look out for cheaper prices, or, if that is cheap, get your gas here.

Title: Re: Cincy Classic
Post by: Hydrobond on April 07, 2006, 10:17:01 AM
I just paid 2.85.  Indiana sucks for gas prices.

BTW, that means fill up before you hit the Dayton area.  Gas is usually cheaper out in the counrty, and there isn't any of that after you hit Dayton.

^ He Speaks the Truth

The Points of No Return (Interstate wise) are:

I-74: Brookville (last exit in IN)
I-71: N: Wilmington (Exit 50ish)
        S: Walton (The 71/75 Merge)
I-75: N: Piqua (Yes, Piqua)
        S: Walton (The 71/75 Merge)

Past those points you are entering Sprawlopolis, and are subject to the prices of sprawlopolis.

Well, it appears as though The Perl, the Evil Leon and I are going to be making an appearance around 1:30ish tomorrow. The Perl will be wearing his RF Generation hat. I'll... be accompanying the Perl. Look for us.

Don't forget to visit Jungle Jim's afterwards!

Stopped by the convention for a couple of hours with TraderJake and The Evil Leon today. We met up with Den and Sauza and also found Shadytool there as well.  Had a great time looking over all the rare consoles and games and chatting it up with our fellow gamers.  And we of course went out for some famous Skyline chili afterwards.

It was great meeting up with the fellow RFG members and finally getting to talk to you all in person.  If this happens again next year, I'd definately be up for going again.  Here's a quick picture we shot of me, Den, Mike, and Dave.  Leon and Rick managed to avoid my camera.  |D

Post by: den68 on April 09, 2006, 07:26:50 AM
The Cinci Classic was a great time. Sauza and I left Detroit about 7:45 and after stopping for lunch hit the show about noon. I picked up about 17 games which I'll post in the Treasures forum later. I could have bought a ton more. It was pretty cool seeing so much stuff in one place.

I also took a few pictures which I'll post tomorrow.

As Eddie mentioned and provided visual proof of Sauza and I hooked up with him, TraderJake and the Evil Leon. It was a blast meeting you guys and finally getting to put a face to all those names.

I gotta admit, having spaghetti with chili and drowning in cheese seemed a little odd at first but it was pretty damn good. I suspect if I were a Cinci boy I'd be dining at Skyline Chili quite often and most likely weigh about 400 pounds.

I got to meet several other people from here, DP and even the VGB days.

from RFG:

Sauza12 - my partner on this awesome road trip
St0rmTK421 - the great genius himself
TraderJake - doesn't like the spaghetti chili???
The Evil Leon - the name fits folks... trust me
Shadytool - gave me crap about the Lions signing John Kitna
Douglie007 - wants an RFG hat

from DP:

Big Daddy Chester
Downfall
Sniderman
CueWarrior - Sensei Fu over here
Wizdawg

and from the old VGB days

Tekken Mastress

Eh, I don't eat chili period. I figure if I order a small 3 way every time I go perhaps then I will be able to eat one in its entirety. At least I eat LaRosa's Calzones like they are Candy.

The classic was pretty neat to go to, and I got to see a lot of systems and games that I had never seen in Person before. I also learned that people on synthesizer boards can be really, really shitty, and I need to touch up on my Donkey Konga skills.

The Black Perl, Dave, and I met up with Sauza and Den and we checked things up and down. I think we all picked up a few games. The convention was pretty big. It's grown quite a bit over the last few years.

Title: Re: Cincy Classic
Post by: Sauza12 on April 11, 2006, 09:33:40 AM
Cinci Classic was a blast!  I spent more than I probably should have, but it was a special occasion.  Screw financial responsibility.

It was actually a little overwhelming seeing all of that stuff in the same room at the same time.  I spent most of the time wandering around trying to figure out what to look at first.

It was great to finally meet so many people from the site.  Just remember, if you guys ever come to Detroit we have to hit up a bikini bar or two.  |D

I really had a lot of fun talking to other people at the convention about the site.  Who would have thought that marketing for the site would be an enjoyable activity.  Not only was it fun to meet new people and let them know about the site, it also strengthened my resolve to get more scans and info turned into the site.

Assuming Cinci Classic comes back next year, you can count me in for sure!

Son of a bitch.  Why do I have this feeling that Vectrex will haunt me until I'm 80 years old?
