Title: The answer is: Alex Trebek
Post by: Zagnorch on November 08, 2020, 07:24:55 PM
The question is: who passed away today from pancreatic cancer at the age of 80?

But there's an even more important question: Will SNL attempt to bring in Will Ferrell (Trebek), Daryl Hammond (Sean Connery), and Norm McDonald (Burt Reynolds/ Turd Ferguson) to do a special Afterlife Edition of Celebrity Jeopardy? Come on, you KNOW you wanna watch it; don't lie like you do a lot...

Isn't Burt Reynolds still alive?  Sad news this is, though.  Who's hosting Jeopardy now?

Noop. He left us a couple years ago.

They taped enough new episodes with Trebek to play through the end of the year. After that... nobody knows. From what I've seen, Trebek was insistent on being the host until he was no longer able to do so, and apparently he felt like looking for a successor, even with his pancreatic cancer, would jinx things.

Still, that last batch of posthumous Jeopardy shows is gonna be a bit weird...

It will be.  The final Trebek episode will, fittingly, be on Christmas which I think will be a nice final touch.  I heard rumors of Ken Jennings filling the spot.
