Title: Need Advice On A Project
Post by: Atari6600 on November 11, 2022, 11:03:04 AM
So I used to run a YouTube channel and one of the shows we'd started up before being forced to shut down and start a new channel, was a gaming podcast.  We'd talk about three topics per episode but I feel like the well could run dry too easily if we did that when we resurrect the cast.

I was also thinking about taking my friend's advice as he listens to casts that are one topic per episode and they make it work somehow...but I'm worried it'll get too boring.  So my question is: What's the best way to set up a podcasting show?  Opinions, preferences and advice are all welcome.  We're trying to get the show back off the ground in this coming week (the week of November 14th).

Please let me know.  I'll check back when I can.

Talk about what you want to talk about and do what you want to do.  Don't worry about anyone else but do take their feedback to heart.

The Angry Video Nerd's (James Rolfe) friend Mike Matei had a podcast show on YT where him and another friend would talk about 2 games per episode and they shut it down in like August, it was called Talk About Games and focused on games from all gens. But normally they would focus on one newer game and one older game at a time. But they were getting a few tens of thousands of views (20-50,000) per episode and that was not satisfying to them and wanted to do work on other projects if thats all they were getting using that time which was like an hour. Although it wasn't posted on the Cinnemassacre channel its a channel connected to it. So there goals are probably much higher than yours though. The viewership base for the main channel is around 3-4 million subscribers and they were not happy with how many were coming to that channel from the main one.

So there are a lot of factors. Even well known Youtubers try stuff and it doesn't work out so experimenting along with proven formulas combined is the best way to go I think.
