Title: What system should I collect for next? Post by: Sauza12 on January 19, 2005, 07:40:41 AM I'm nearing the end of my 32x collection (Hopefully I'll be done with it by March) and I'm not sure which I should collect for next. I keep jumping between the options I've listed above but I can't come to a decision.
So I've decided to let you guys chose for me. However the board choses I will run with it. Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: Arrrhalomynn on January 19, 2005, 08:00:21 AM Dreamcast. You can still get a lot of those in good quality (even sealed) for very low prices. And it's a cool system.
Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: sinning.dragon on January 19, 2005, 08:36:06 AM I seriously need to steal back my mum's dreamcast. It'd be nice if all the games she had weren't burned, but I"m not going to argue with a bajillion games.
Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: den68 on January 19, 2005, 08:44:42 AM collect for them all at the same time, that's what I do.
Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: Sauza12 on January 19, 2005, 08:53:11 AM I usually do buy for multiple systems, but I always try to concentrate on one system in particular.
Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: Arrrhalomynn on January 19, 2005, 08:55:02 AM You voted for the Master System yourself. You do have a preference?
Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: Tynstar on January 19, 2005, 09:27:03 AM It all depends on why you collect? Cheap? Easy to find? Sweet to play? Small library?
Odyssey 2 is cheap and easy. Only 1 game cost a lot. SMS is fun to hunt down but can be hard because yuo might get Euro games instead of the US released games. Don't do Sega CD because thats what I am collecting for next. :P I need 3 more SMS games and 1 more O2 game to be done with both systems US released library's/ All the games are CIB as well |D Atari 7800 I have thought about because it is a cheap small library and most of the titles are easy to find. Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: Izret101 on January 19, 2005, 10:21:47 AM I said DC.
For all the reasons listed plus it is a fun system. I think over all DC will be the easiest system to go for next. Good luck with Sonic Adventure Limited Edition though. I like that 3 out of the 6 systems were Sega BTW |D Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: Antimind on January 19, 2005, 10:26:25 AM I'm working on 7800 myself but mainly cause it's the second console I owned and I love the games. I'd say go with the smaller libraries first just to get them out of the way and then start working on the bigger stuff.
Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: tholly on January 19, 2005, 10:26:38 AM i voted for Dreamcast because I don't want you collecting for Odyssey 2 until I finish my collection (less competition for me, :) )
Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: Sauza12 on January 19, 2005, 01:17:04 PM @Arrr I voted just so I could see the poll results. Of course I was going to take off my own vote when it came down to it
@Tynstar Right now I am just looking for systems that have realitivly small libraries and most of the games are easy enough to find for cheap. Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: Lord Nepenthean on January 19, 2005, 01:51:09 PM I voted for Dreamcast as well, because it's just a really great system. The library has very few total stinkers, and a LOT of really great games that too few people know about. And as Mark said, it is still possible to get a lot of Dreamcast games for cheap, even sealed. Most of those other systems probably won't see much of a change in prices or availability, but Dreamcast availability is changing very quickly (and already has a lot). Besides, nobody who collects Odyssey^2 or Arcadia actually likes those games. At least have fun with the games themselves too. I think DC is your best bet in that respect.
Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: Tynstar on January 19, 2005, 01:57:26 PM For small and easy library then go with the 7800 or the O2. If you go with the O2 just don't out bid tholly on anything that we needs.
I have an extra boxed modded O2 system if you need one. Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: tholly on January 19, 2005, 02:40:59 PM Quote  Besides, nobody who collects Odyssey^2 ...actually likes those games.  yea, power lords is terrible, i intend to only look at it and not play it Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: Tynstar on January 19, 2005, 04:18:01 PM I heard it can be fun.
Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: tholly on January 19, 2005, 05:38:09 PM Quote I heard it can be fun. eh....i guess it all depends on personal preference now, attack of the timelord for the O^2, now thats a fun game Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? I don't collect, so maybe I'm thinking of a different Atari system but aren't there like twenty seven trillion games for that system? Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? The Atari 7800 only has 57 games. Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: Antimind on January 20, 2005, 05:29:54 AM And most are relatively easy and cheap to get.
Title: Re: What system should I collect for next? Post by: Sauza12 on January 20, 2005, 06:15:30 AM Yeah, the 7800 doesn't have that one rare and expensive game that everybody needs. You could probably complete the collection for under $300 dollars.
Well from the looks of the poll, I'm going to be collecting for Dreamcast next. Thanks guys! Title: Re: What system should I collect for next?
