Title: Your rarest NES games?
Post by: Izret101 on January 23, 2005, 06:23:54 AM
I decided to check out the Nintendo Legacy forums again and there was a thread up about peoples rarest NES games.

The accuracy didn't seem THAT bad but it was missing some titles and whoever wrote it reworded and/or changed some game titles.
link to guide - http://www.videogameconnections.com/nesrare.txt
Link to forum - http://forums.nintendo.com/nintendo/board/message?board.id=legacy&message.id=39447&view=by_date_ascending&page=1

The letter rating is similair to the number rating except it goes into more unnecessary details.

I want bubble bath babes.
The rarest game from my miniscule collection was a tie between Pirates! and Contra force at B.
It seems kinda weird that contra force was that rare, also Slalom was B-, I thought everyone had Slalom.

I forgot to list Contra force (with box)

I have the box, manual and map for pirates. I need to buy a loose copy from ebay now :P

I don't have too many rare games for NES, but my rarest is probably Dragon Warrior 4.

That rarity guide seems to be off.  There is no way that most of those games are anywhere near rare.

I have a bunch that are 6's according to a certain guide. I don't have a full list of "rare" games offhand but some of the ones that come to mind:

Color A Dinosaur
Pro Sport Hockey
Puzznic
Space Shuttle Project
Tiny Toons Cartoon Workshop

I have too damn many games to make a list. Nothing that I'd consider a real rarity though.

I need to go out and get one of the "Official" guides if not now soon.
That way i can figure out how rare my stuff really is.

I use it a bit but would prefer a hard copy. I can't take my internet with me.

I've got nothing all that rare. I quickly browsed the DP guide and I've got a few 6's. DK Jr. Math, Dragon Warrior IV, Kid Klown, Puzznic and a few others. I saw one 7 that I have, Qix. that one I have complete.

Acording to my Video Game Collector mag, my most expensive game is Dragon Warrior IV, at $45 loose.
I dont know which is the rarest, but that might accually be it.
Oh yeah, I bought that game for $2 off of one of my friends.

85 bucks for shipping 3 miles seems high so I will have to pass.

I sold a loose Final Fantasy for thirty bucks once. At the time I thought: "Wow...that must have been a really rare game." But then I found it for 5.99 at a flea market. So, instead of looking i'll ask. What's Final Fantasy worth?

If anyone tells him i will be very angry. Make him find it himself.

As for you guys with Dragon Warrior sweet deal.
I have actually been passing up a Tengen Tetris for quite some time now but the box is so mangled i really don't want it.

Title: Re: Your rarest NES games?
Post by: Sauza12 on January 26, 2005, 11:52:20 AM
@Izret  First of all your mean.  Why not let him know what it's worth?  I'm gonna tell him.  |D  But depending on the price, you might want to pick it up even if it does have the mangled box.  Loose that game can go as high as $40.

@Leon  ........More than 5.99, but less than 30.  I'd tell you more, but I fear Izrets wrath.

like 12 dollars loose is what I normally see. But it rings up at like 28 - 30 at EB Games :-/

Complete I have seen them on ebay go for 25 - 50....

Hey Izret  :P wrath this

Nah i didn't mean don''t let him know the price. But you should have at least made him find it online.

The place i shop had a sealed FF and a guy asked the price on it
The owner said $100
Without blinking the guy opened up his wallet and dropped 5 $20s.

I am sure the owner would have let it go for 20-30 bucks if the guy realised he was joking.

I don't know, I have seen some insane prices for sealed Final Fantasy.  I'm talking near $500.

Wow....
That is insane.
A complete copy only  goes for like 50 tops (from what i have seen)
Thats why i luvs me a sealed game |D

that's just crazy. I have no interest in sealed games. I enjoy this collection because I can play every game in it if I want to. I prefer to have the box and manuals if possible but I'm not keeping anything sealed. especially if it's a game I don't have.

I've got a lot of action figures and Hot Wheels so I get the Mint in Box thing I'm just not following that philosophy in my game collection.

I agree!! The whole point of collecting games is so you can play them. I don't get collecting sealed games.

I have a few factory sealed games , but I would rather have them open. However I probably wont be opening my factory sealed Cheetahmen 2 any time soon. :P

If Cheetahman 2 is so rare why does it seem every big NES collector have a sealed one? Is the game rarer opened?
