Title: PS4 Added to Database
Post by: blcklblskt on November 11, 2013, 02:12:04 PM
Can we get the PS4 enabled for the North America region?  Several games released this past Friday, as will a few more tomorrow and on system launch on Friday.

It's in there now, I decided to wait until the system was actually out to do so.

Yep - I went to add it on launch day and the DB had the full NA launch set.

On a somewhat related note, I've now added the Xbox One to the DB, since it will be released tomorrow in North America and Brazil, and is already out in some European countries.

Just FYI, This and the Xbox One are not really showing up correctly on the Android app.  They are showing as ??? in the list and when you try and filter your collection they are filed under "Unknown system".

Can you tell me which list/locations? I don't have an Android handy, but I can tell you that the consoles exists in the console list for our API:
{"id":"216","name":"Microsoft Xbox One"}
{"id":"215","name":"Sony PlayStation 4"}

It may be in a location that the API wasn't hooked into yet, which may require Grue to update the app - hoping that's not required.

Here are some screen shots:

After doing a search, here is how the results are showing.  Looks like the Wii U results are having the same issue.  The 3 ? entries are for Wii U, Xbox One, and PS4 entries.

After adding a game to my collection, if I try to do a search for that game again, it crashes the app.  The only way I can view the entry in my collection is by going into my collection and filtering the results.  The filter for PS4 shows under "Unknown Console" (the "8" is off...):

Once selecting that, here is how they show up:

I have a feeling that it's due to how long ago the application was published - it likely doesn't have an API setup to pull the consoles for those pages, and hence the handling for those platforms aren't there (since those were all added this year). Grue will likely have to make some changes to the app and republish to fix.

OK Cool, it's not too bad right now except for the crashing part when you try and search something.  Like just because I have ACIV black flag in my collection under PS4, if I search just "Assassin's creed" it crashes the whole app.

Hey guys, my bad for forgetting my app had this dependency on me keeping its internal database up to date with these new consoles. I've added a bunch, and also should have that search bug that Bear78 mentioned taken care of too, in the case that other new consoles get added in the future before I update the app. I'll push it later tonight, then Google should get it to you guys within the next day or so.
