Title: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - NES - Unlicensed Post by: shaggy on October 21, 2015, 09:02:29 PM I can't find this game in the database and I swore I have seen it in the database before, the black, unlicensed version. I even thought I had it in my collection. I can only find the licensed version. Please tell me I'm not going crazy and somebody can find it. Thanks.

Title: Re: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - NES - Unlicensed Post by: shaggy on October 21, 2015, 10:27:09 PM I did searches and only came up with Mindscape. The Mindscape page lists only one variation and it is the other Mindscape variation.
Title: Re: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - NES - Unlicensed Post by: Raidou on October 21, 2015, 11:11:15 PM What search terms are you using?
Searching "Temple of Doom" brings 2 Mindscape variations (round and oval seals) and the 1 Tengen (unlicensed) variant. The Tengen release does not include any reference to unlicensed in its title/variation title/alternate title, so if you're using terms like unlicensed in your searching that may be why. Title: Re: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - NES - Unlicensed Post by: shaggy on October 22, 2015, 07:34:40 AM Searching Indiana Jones. Searched just NES. Searched all systems. Tengen version does not come up. I also went to Add to my collection for NES I don't have and it doesn't show up.
Title: Re: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - NES - Unlicensed Post by: shaggy on October 22, 2015, 07:35:54 AM I just did a search for Temple of Doom using the search in the left hand menu and it only returned 3 games. 2 of them out of the US and 1 in the US. It was only 1 of the Mindscape version.

The Tengen version, for whatever reason, it not listed as an Original Release.
Release Types: Alternate Publisher, Label Variation, Media Variation, Packaging Variation Isn't the Unlicensed Version different than the Licensed Version? Release Types: Alternate Publisher, Label Variation, Media Variation, Packaging Variation Isn't the Unlicensed Version different than the Licensed Version? That is true but I didn't think that was the problem because I could still search for a title, find it, click on the title and see the list of variations for that title. As for if the game is different, I don't know. I know the cart and box are different. Title: Re: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - NES - Unlicensed Post by: Shadow Kisuragi on October 22, 2015, 09:33:34 AM By December 1988, there were two versions of the game available, distributed by Tengen and Mindscape, although the software itself was identical.
...should be a Variation Tie-In then with the Mindscape version. Title: Re: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - NES - Unlicensed Post by: shaggy on October 22, 2015, 11:29:04 AM These variations are killing me here with the database.

I see it has been added now as a variation. I am able to see it if I search. Thanks! |
