I picked up 10 albums, all in very good condition for 80 cents each. a couple of the sleeves were a little worn but all the vinyl was clean and free of warping or scratches.

Obscured By Clouds When You're In Burning Bridges The Gold It's In The... Wot's... Uhh The Deal Mudmen Childhood's End Free Four Stay Absolutely Curtains Title: Re: a bunch of albums on vinyl Post by: den68 on June 26, 2005, 06:04:30 AM you wouldn't most likely have heard any songs from Obscurred by Clouds. at least not on the radio anyway. it was a soundtrack album for a flick called La Vallee. doubt anyone has seen that either. maybe Nep, he's into that obscure stuff.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069451/ Quote I would bet that most of the people who seek out this film are either Schroeder compilists or Pink Floyd fans. The film follows the odyssey of a bored rich girl who goes looking for rare feathers in a "Mystical" jungle that is covered in clouds. The full title is "The Valley Obscured By Clouds" and the soundtrack(Obscured By Clouds)was Pink Floyd's last soundtrack right before they made "Dark Side of The Moon". The film contains some generous sex scenes, some nudity and a Pig slaughtering scene that might not appeal to timid viewers but it does have a neat soundtrack and some different versions of Floyd songs can be heard here,if only in snippets. Although it gets a good rating,Schroeder and Floyd fans might be better off with "More" another Schroeder film with a more complete soundtrack. I'm a big Costello fan. I think I have everyting he's done on CD. Having a few of those big 12" sleeves is pretty cool. In my opinion, even though vinyl doesn't sound clearer than a CD, it often seems to sound better than a CD because it was the original recording medium used when the music was first distributed. The crackle and background effects that would be edited out on a CD actually give the music some of its character when you listen to it on vinyl. Just my $.02. Title: Re: a bunch of albums on vinyl Post by: den68 on July 07, 2005, 08:41:57 AM I don't even notice the crackle unless I listen for it. I guess to someone who grew up on CD's or MP3's it would stick out like a sore thumb. I grew up with records and that sound was always just there.
