Title: Halo Movie Post by: Lord Nepenthean on June 20, 2005, 06:34:33 PM The full article can be found here: http://www.gamesarefun.com/news.php?newsid=5165
Quote Microsoft would be paid $5 million for the rights to Halo. Microsoft would also get 10%, not 15%, of the first-dollar box-office receipts (which is still a good deal for Microsoft). Universal would then oversee production and get the domestic distribution rights, while Fox would get the foreign rights and have a say in the production. All said and done, Microsoft is getting a pretty good deal in a market where they are untested. They have high hopes for the movie (they paid Alex Garland of 28 Days Later fame to pen a script faithful to the Halo universe). While we're on the topic of video games made to movies, has anyone heard anything about the Doom movie? Title: Re: Halo Movie Post by: CatchFiveBats on June 20, 2005, 06:39:52 PM What...? A Halo movie...? I never really liked the story of Halo anyway, so I guess I won't be watching this one. (Not that I watch many movies anyway.)
Title: Re: Halo Movie Post by: Zimbacca on June 21, 2005, 12:38:53 AM This should have been expected. Halo is a very popular video game. As far as the doom movie all I know is, there are no demons from hell, it's not on mars, the rock stars and its suppose to come out in July or August (I think).
Title: Re: Halo Movie Post by: Izret101 on June 21, 2005, 07:16:00 AM I only heard rumors about it.
My friend was telling me there was one coming out but i didin't believe him because he is a sarcastic liar sometimes. Title: Re: Halo Movie Post by: Francis_The_Mute on June 22, 2005, 11:18:24 AM I don't know about the Halo movie, but to answer your earlier question, the doom movie has been moved to an october release date because of some logistics bull. i dont know, i found the article on 1up http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3139658&did=1

Title: Re: Halo Movie Post by: Izret101 on June 22, 2005, 08:23:57 PM I think it will be a pretty large movie no matter what type o reviews it gets.
Title: Re: Halo Movie Post by: Lord Nepenthean on June 23, 2005, 04:00:44 AM Oh I'll see it, but for the same reason I see other video game-based movies - just because they are based on video games. Speaking of that reminds me that I still need to see Alone in the Dark.....

You won't heckle someone dressed like master chief would you? Oh well, the wife will protect me. Title: Re: Halo Movie Post by: danvx6 on July 07, 2005, 05:22:02 PM I just watched National Treasure last night and when I saw Ian (played by Sean Bean) all I could think was "That is Liquid Snake!" He would definitely fit that role in a MGS movie, too bad the idea of a movie has been shot down by Hideo Kojima multiple times already.
