No work today or Friday, nothing much to do, so I thought "fuck it".

Opened a bottle of Greene King Abbot Ale, put Motorhead on the C.D player, and dialed out for pizza.

No bread and water, no fresh air, no guilt trip / depression. I am gonna drink and play video games. So there. :)

Seriously though , I used to be a heavy drinker back in the early 20's party age , but I have only ever had 2 hangovers  :P

fess up now. Bud Light is not heavy drinking.

My Dad's friend, swears my dark rum. He says he never gets ill if he only drinks dark rum.


To be honest, if I stick to traditional beers, I am not too bad. Modern lagers, and gassy beers, do make me iller.

Sounds like jello shots, love'em.  Never go to a Bills game without them.  

I never used to get hang overs, but now it seems like I get one if I even have 2 or 3 beers.

If you stick to the reinheitgebot beers, hangovers should be minimal.  It's when you drink the chemically "enhanced" beers that you run into hangovers.  Of course it depends on how much you drink to begin with, but i've found that if you stick to a less is more philosophy, you are better off.   One thing you really should do if you drink though is eat, drinking on an empty stomach is really, really bad.

I've never had a sip of any kind of alcohol, and I never will.  Of course, I'm 18, so I have no right to be drinking, but I still have no intention of ever getting into that.  Alcoholism runs in my family, and I'd prefer not to risk it.

I used to drink all the time before i turned 21, Now it's not worth it I will always get a hangover..

anything advertised on TV or sold in a keg will not fit in that category.

though I've had my share of the hard stuff over the years I'm now only a beer drinker. but it's on rare occassions that I even do that. still, when the moment suits me I can pound them with the best of them.

Not true, they are there, but they are hard to find.

Sam Adams fits the category IIRC.  As does a local brew Christian Moerlein, which you can get in kegs.  (Come to think of it, both are local brews.)  

well if you want to be literal yeah. but how many keggers have you been to that had Christian Moerlein as opposed to the usual Busch or Miller Lite.

I suspect Guiness fits the bill too and I've seen their commercials though lost in the rolling waves of Budweiser and Miller spots.

I'm not sure I could even tell you I've been lucky enough to come across Miller Lite at a kegger, usually keystone.  One at Ohio State had Michelob, and I was shocked.

Keystone.... UGH. does that even qualify as beer? a truly vile swill it is.

I will be 32 in September 8) And by heavy drinking I am talking about the good stuff  ;) But I dont really drink at all anymore :-/ Maybe something from time to time if I am out to dinner.  

I may go out tonight, though undecided.  And I really need to stay away from Kriska (vodka beer) this week, as it seems to induce much memory loss and a raging headache the next day :|

I would just try to stay away from anything that combines beer and hard liquer, not a good combination.

Eh IMO not drinking all that much isn;t a bad thing.
Like CFB i have family and friend experiances of alchoholism.

I don't think drinking is bad so long as your not a constant drunk mess and can control yourself.

I think you guys need to come here to the northwest, there are some that call this the micro brew capital of the world. There is a store nearby which advetises they have over something like 300 different beers. They don't even carry many of the other ones I've seen around. But you have inspired me to have the last of the Lagunitas Hairy Eyeball which I have in the fridge. It's only at 9% alcohol content by the way.

I love buying microbrew beers.  It's a ritual that whenever one of my friends gets a fight on pay-per-view, everyone has to bring over a 6 pack from a different microbrewery.

I was in a beer of the month club for awhile and used to get a 6 pack from 2 different micro breweries each month. the variety was quite amazing, I ought to get that again.

a couple of years ago I attended a seminar at the Henry Ford http://www.thehenryford.org/
on the history of beer. It was complete with samplings of many beer styles and a nice meal with the appropriate companion beer.
