What game do you simply believe that nobody can beat you at or play better than you?  In the past, I was quite the Sonic player, and believe I could complete the game, collecting every item box possible in a pretty quick time.  I did in fact claim a (fake) golden joystick for winning a competition at Sonic when I was about 9 or 10, beating people much older than me at time trials on Spring Yard & Scrap Brain Zones.

In more recently times, Super Puzzle Fighter 2 is my trick hand.  When I worked in a games shop, my boss, colleagues and customers who used to come in would play.  This happened for around 3 years, until finally my boss (who was generally regarded as the best player around) decreed no more would be played in the shop after I beat him for the last time, as he was unable to beat me even once over a course of 10 games, and destroyed the CD :P.

So enough of me blowing my slightly out of tune trumpet, what games are (or were) you THE best at?

I rock at Baldur's Gate. I can finish it in a day, with 2 hands tied behind my back and blindfolded.

I used to be very good at need for speed 3 and moto racer, but I lost the skills for those games after I stopped playing them.

If only I was actually that good at any video games.  I'm going to claim for now that I'm the Where's Waldo champion of the world, because I can probably beat it faster than you, and I'm the only one here who would want to anyway.

You mentioning NFS just reminded me of two games I did in fact have MASTERED in the past: Diddy Kong Racing and GoldenEye.  I played Diddy Kong Racing ten times over in all directions and upside down, and could go for days without food if it meant getting a time I needed in that game.

I was so good at GoldenEye that people often made me play with handicaps maxed against me and in their favor, and I STILL won.  I got so bored with that that I started playing with the two-controller schemes, one controller in each hand.  That was tough as nails, but I could still beat most people with it.  I eat Oddjob for breakfast.

I got to pefection on DOOM on the PS1.

Could take over at nearly any point, from a friend in trouble, and finish the level with at least 100% health & armor.

Skill? Dunno, I just always knew where the monsters were, and would often shoot as I turned, before they came into proper view.

Can't really manage it now though

right now, right this moment my game is "Fire Shark" for the Megadrive.

I'm not saying that I am the best player, 'cos I am not, I did however just complete it. :)

Well I got to stage 10 and finished it, and got the congrtatulations animation, then I turned it off when it restarted.

It's rather ironic that this topic came up when it did, because I am going to send a record into Twin Galaxies when I get home today.  Just yesterday I beat the world record at Taz for the Atari 2600.  The old score was 330,500 and last night i got just over 343,000 points.

I've also never found anyone who could beat me regularly at Street Fighter.  I have one friend that is pretty even with me in terms of skill.  If we fight 10 times, we are going to split it 5-5.

Wow, congrats on your high score in Taz!  That's quite an accomplishment for sure.  I'm not so good at games where points are involved, so I respect that.

I more or less dominate everyone i have played in Goldeneye i got 36 kills in 10 minutes in a 3 on one match and only died 4 times on license to kill.

You pretty good with proximity mines?  I can ANNIHILATE anyone in a proximity mine contest.  You'll die ten times consecutively, before you can even move, because I know all of the spawn points.

what level? your ass is mine on facility(dont go through any doors there will be mines on it) or complex(dont bother camping in the pertch you might get me 2-3x but i can snipe you any gun once i get there) or or any of the stack level variations(mines in corners of rooms blend in)

but most other level i dont play so iths fairgame there

Facility and the Temple are my two best levels.  The Facility is definitely my favorite - and I like it better in GoldenEye than Perfect Dark.  Both great games though that I was once incredibly good at.

worms world party for dc 38 wins 0 losses matches are my 2 worms on the computers 13 or 14. I havent played in about 6 months dont wanna tarnish my record.

The only game I really play regularly is Symphony of the night.  I'm good, but a friend of mine is better.  He can beat Slogra and Gaibon (1st boss) with his toes.

I have been known to play Tekken one handed and still get "perfect" victories against human players. I am the best at Tekken. Ever. I would also like to toot my horn about the whole Super Metroid thing again. I rock all over that game too.

i kill all of my friends at unreal tournament 2004,  but i know a few people that kick my ass (i cant even get off one kill in a 30 frag match)

Mine has to be 1942 for the NES.  My best run was when I beat the game with only dying twice.  If I had a friend that kept beating me in a game, I would pop in 1942 and let them play first.  After about a minute they would die and I would take over and after about 30 minutes they would walk out the room or tell me to turn it off.  A cheap trick, I know.

i can think of a few games that i can really rock at when i practice them, but Mechwarrior series and NFS: High Stakes are two i never need to practice my ubermicro with to kick ass.  8)

Pitfall II - Lost Caverns. I haven't had the chance to get my Atari 5200 working, so I haven't tried the extra levels, but I kick a** in this game and can go through quickly & untouched. I played this game everyday for a period of 2 months last year, I can't wait to get a 2 port 5200, their easier to get working.

Tapper, the arcade game.

Man i love Tapper. I played it a few times at Hampton Beach.
Then i played it ALOT on midways website. Then on PS2 on the midway arcade compilation.
Great Game. (Next hi score contest maybe??)
BTW i am not nearly as good at Goldeneye anymore.
I am not as unstopable at any games i use to be anymore.

I'm a pretty good fighter pilot on Star Fox 64 in a one-on-one multiplayer match, and I typically beat my buddies on the Nintendo NES Tetris (200 lines sometimes).

I don't claim to be better than everyone else on any game but I'm pretty good at Empire of Steel on the Mega Drive.

I've beaten it loads of times and I'm still not bored with it. It's one of my favourite games on the Mega Drive, if not THE favourite.

My highest score was something around 3,500,000.

For me that would easily be Dead or Alive. I think I need to start bringing it with me to Kyle's, that way when he starts absolutely raping me with kill numbers in any other game I play with him, I can just pop that one in and teach him a lesson. That isn't to say I don't get beaten in that game, just that the only people who beat me regularly are my little sisters who are also as obsessed with that game as I am. Kyle's done it a few times, but with loads of fights in between. I should take it to my friend Sarah's; there's usually a butt ton of gamers there, see how I stack up.

I'd have to add Tales of Symphonia and Elder Scrolls Oblivion (360 not pc) to my list. I was the first person on my friends list to complete the game, hell, I had it done before most of them were 1/4 of the way through. I completed ALL sidequests and well, everything before any of my 360 and pc playing friends were halfway through. When the expansions come out, I get it and 30 mins or less later (hey where's that pizza) I'm done with them and waiting for more. I know the game inside and out so well that my pals are using me for their own, personal fucking tipline...lol

It's true.  She kicked my ass 4 out of 5 games today.

Some other games that I rule at is Guitar Hero and NHL Hitz 20-03.

I have only lost one match in Guitar Hero, and I had to remove myself from any future competitions.  The only time I play anybody now is if they get too cocky and challenge me to a match.

When it comes to NHL Hitz, it's not even remotely close to being a fair match.  The closest anyone has ever come to beating me was 6 goals.

Oh yeah, a little update on the Taz score I was going to submit to Twin Galaxies.  I contacted them about my high score, and apparently you need to video tape the game that you are playing, and I just had a polaroid picture of my score.  After I found that out, I went video taped myself getting the high score and went to submit it, but somebody beat me to the punch and flipped the score, tripling my highest score so I didn't even bother sending it in.

Does that mean you are good or have too much time on your hands?
