Title: The Devil's Rejects Post by: Zimbacca on July 26, 2005, 12:12:58 AM I saw The Devil's Rejects today. It wasn't anything like I expected. It wasn't nearly as gory or violent as House of 1000 corpses. This one also actually had a story. If you liked House of 1000 Corpses then you'll probably like this one, and if you didn't like or see House you might still like it. I personally like house better, but that's only because I'm fucked up like that.

But it was funny at the theatre when the posters for The Devils Rejects and Lords of Dogtown were right next to each other. The D R poster showed three people walking down a road with various weapons at their sides and L O D showed what appeared to be the same three people walking down a road with skateboards in their hands.

Thats pretty funny. Me and a few friends were debating going to see it. It looked really good. I didn't see House of 1000 Corpses but at least a bunch of my friends did and some said it was really f'ed up and some said really good. So thats another one i am going to need to see. The funny thing is I have had this movie for about 6 months now and we just haven't found time to watch it. His kids are always running around the house when we feel like watching it. :P
Title: Re: The Devil's Rejects Post by: Lord Nepenthean on July 31, 2005, 08:11:59 AM I saw this movie two nights ago and loved it. The direction was absolutely amazing. Rob Zombie really impressed me with this one, as he used some techniques that are way ahead of most movies of today. The final scene in particular was really well done.
Kyle said this one wasn't as gory as House of 1000 Corpses. While he may technically be right, I found certain scenes in this one MUCH harder to watch than Zombie's first movie. See it at your own risk if you can't take seeing really sadistic people mess with other really sadistic (and non-sadistic) people. If you can handle it though, the movie is great. There is some really wrong black humor, some good action, a fantastic soundtrack, and as I said, great direction. Title: Re: The Devil's Rejects Post by: Mike Leon on October 25, 2005, 09:46:52 AM Rejects was okay. I wasn't that crazy about it. Zombie's direction is hit and miss. It seemed like for every cool new directing technique he used, he employed two more drawn-out cliche montages to southern rock music. The dialogue was pushed. It didn't seem believeable. Also there are large portions of the movie that were clearly put there just to reference other movies and don't make any sense in the story line. It's worth seeing though. You'll get a few laughs out of it.
