Title: EU SMS? Post by: yap on September 12, 2005, 04:44:23 PM If I buy an EU SMS is there something I can do to make it work on an NTSC television in USA? :ninja:

Quote [1] IS EUROPEAN SOFTWARE COMPATIBLE WITH U.S. SMS UNITS? From -http://www.classicgaming.com/museum/faqs/smsfaq.shtmlYes. Although folks may be wondering about PAL and NTSC definitions, there appears to be only some minor problems playing European games, and only with a small minority of carts: If you want to play a EU system in the US i think all you need would be a power and video converter due to the difference in plugs. Title: Re: EU SMS? Post by: Tynstar on September 12, 2005, 09:30:17 PM I have one if you need a PAL SMS.

Why do you want to play a EU SMS so bad? A US SMS would work fine. I don't think any of teh games are region protected. And nice to hear we have another HDTV person on the boards. Title: Re: EU SMS? Post by: yap on September 13, 2005, 08:06:58 AM It's not that I need it THAT badly. But the SMS I had hooked up to the TV has broken, and I have a SMS Generation 1 EU Boxed and SMS Generation 2 EU Boxed in storage, I'm wondering if it's worth taking one out of storage (and a box) or if I should just pick up another used USA SMS.
I just got a cheap copy of Alex Kidd in Shinobi World, and I wanted to check it out! I did notice lots of places sell PAL to NTSC converters, it might be nice to have one of those anyway if they work ok. Thanks for all the replies, this is an awesome site. Title: Re: EU SMS?
