http://www.walkofgame.com/about/about.html I haven't been able to check out much mre than what i just posted on it. But i wanted to get it out there. Title: Re: Walk of Game Post by: Arrrhalomynn on October 02, 2005, 03:08:37 PM http://www.walkofgame.com/inductees/inductees.html
What a load of crap. How can you put halo on the same level as Sonic, Zelda and Mario? If people still rave about it in 15 years you might consider it, but now it's just retarded. Title: Re: Walk of Game Post by: TraderJake on October 02, 2005, 04:55:14 PM Wow, I have to register to vote in this, better yet, I can't vote for Gunpei Yokoi or Yuji Naka! What a load of crap.
I don't think that a walk of fame should have everyday joes vote for these things. God Knows that Lara Croft didn't have the same effect on the industry as say,  Tetris. Title: Re: Walk of Game Post by: CatchFiveBats on October 02, 2005, 07:30:07 PM Quote Inductees to date are: Nolan Bushnell, Shigeru Miyamoto, Halo, Link (The Legend of Zelda), Mario, and Sonic The Hedgehog. God fucking dammit... Halo does NOT deserve a spot on that list. I don't feel like saying all the same things I typed earlier today, so just look to this link for my reasoning behind this: http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=classic;action=display;num=1128143829 - CFB Title: Re: Walk of Game Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on October 03, 2005, 06:16:03 AM More like the walk of lame. God fucking dammit indeed.
Title: Re: Walk of Game Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on October 03, 2005, 06:20:35 AM Holy shit The Sims is leading the voting for next game, followed by Tomb Raider.

You agree with or wrote what was said in that thread ? Back on subject : No Halo does not deserve a spot in there with those legends. Title: Re: Walk of Game Post by: Tynstar on October 03, 2005, 07:31:11 AM This is almost as those game "awards" are. The one Spike had a few years ago was one of the dumbest things I have ever seen.
Title: Re: Walk of Game Post by: yap on October 03, 2005, 07:32:46 AM Lamest choices to vote from ever. No Dani Bunten (M.U.L.E.), no Ultima series. Lifetime achievement doesn't have Shigeru Miyamato or Yu Suzuki.
How lame. Title: Re: Walk of Game Post by: Lord Nepenthean on October 03, 2005, 07:59:36 AM Wow. Halo definitely does not deserve to be on that list, and probably never will deserve to be in my opinion. The rankings for the next inductees are even worse. The Sims? Lara Croft? Will Wright? Sid Meier? AHHHGGGG!!!!!!!! I can't believe these even made it into the voting, nor can I believe that they are actually leading the voting. Where is Ralph Baer? Where is Gunpei Yokoi? Hell, Trip Hawkins is more important than Sid Meier.
This is a stupid list. The general public definitely should not have been involved in the voting. Title: Re: Walk of Game Post by: Sureshot on October 03, 2005, 08:38:24 AM Arghhhhh, The Sims...........
To show you how dumb the general public can be, In an (almost) related incident, apparently Sony Ericsson did a poll for the public's greatest song of all time. First global favourite was 'We Are The Champions' by Queen. Ok, it's not Bohemian Rhapsody, but no big alarm here. Do you know what was 2nd? Remember... this is a poll for the GREATEST song of ALL TIME. It was... Britney Spears - Toxic. Yeah.  Read all about it: http://game.itn.co.uk/news/1931478.html Title: Re: Walk of Game Post by: Tynstar on October 03, 2005, 09:16:17 AM Quote Arghhhhh, The Sims........... 5 years after it's release for a game 10 years after designing thier first game for a person, etc. Title: Re: Walk of Game Post by: Mike Leon on October 15, 2005, 04:46:08 PM I looked at the website in the link and if you read the home page it says that walkofgame is owned and funded by a company called SCA Promotions. I went to the SCA Promotions website. It is (as the name implies) a promotions company. They are paid by 2nd parties to promote products. So are we really surprised that Halo is on the walk of game list? If you really are that shocked then the mega-conglomerates have pulled the wool over your eyes hardcore.
P.S. I've never seen a "top ten" or "best ever" list that wasn't grossly biased somehow in any major publication. |
