Title: Doom Post by: Izret101 on October 23, 2005, 07:08:37 PM I saw Doom today.
It was pretty good and had sopme things in common with the games. If your hoping for Doom 3 on the screen it is not that. There was a cool FPS thing near the end. There were 2 or 3 times when the theater started laughing because sonmething genuinely funny happened "It was a monkey." "Some kind of monkey." hahahaha go see it you will laugh there too prob not as "scary" as the game I'll have more to say later when i am not dead tired and have some free time :) Title: Re: Doom Post by: Arrrhalomynn on October 24, 2005, 02:38:11 AM I heard it really sucked.
Title: Re: Doom Post by: den68 on October 24, 2005, 07:00:48 AM it stars "the Rock", how good could it be?
Title: Re: Doom Post by: Tynstar on October 24, 2005, 08:34:10 AM Quote it stars "the Rock", how good could it be? I liked the Rundown and Scorpion King and those had the Rock in them. Title: Re: Doom Post by: Izret101 on October 24, 2005, 10:40:25 AM Quote I heard it really sucked. There where a few other kids i was talking wityh at school who saw it. My friend summed it up like this and i thought it was rather well put "The only reason it sucked was becasue they called the movie Doom. If they called it Zombies on Mars or something else it would have been cool." Because there was a zombie-esque element to it. Quote it stars "the Rock", how good could it be? When you assume you blah blah blah ;) In anycase its not award winngin material but compaerd to EVERY other vg to movie type thing out there this is prob in the top 3. There are a few plot twists that you wouldn't have seen coming. Not nessecarily a twist but more like a new fact that can change your perception. I suggest you guys see it if you have the money time or can pick up a bootleg copy that doesn't suck. Title: Re: Doom Post by: CatchFiveBats on October 24, 2005, 11:22:03 AM I saw Doom on release night. Vlad and I were dying laughing for most of the movie, and especially during the first-person part. We were mainly laughing during the first-person bit because it was so awesome that we didn't know how else to react, but that's probably because the rest of the movie sucked so bad that that scene looked great in comparison.
My only major complaint was that the movie was based entirely around squad combat, while the game is definitely a "one-person-goes-in-and-kills-everything" kind of thing. Of course, I've only played the first Doom, and the movie was clearly not based on that. The one thing about the movie that surprised me was no boobies. I mean, with the amount of testosterone in this movie, there had to be some. (And no, the random ripped shirt on the dead body doesn't count.) Overall, it was pretty much standard sci-fi action flick fare. Worth seeing if you're into the games or if you like this kind of thing. - Zac Title: Re: Doom Post by: Izret101 on October 24, 2005, 12:05:29 PM Like i said there wasn't much to do with the games besides the Arc, Mars, the dig site.
Plus the movie was one step ahead of the game. The squad had LIGHT ON THEIR GUNS! WAYYY more effecive lol Title: Re: Doom Post by: CatchFiveBats on October 30, 2005, 02:42:52 PM http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/?t=archives&date=2005-10-24
