If you're one of these wussies that thinks Saw is really gross, you probably won't make it all the way through CH. A lot of people can't sit through the whole movie because it's just so perverse. It was banned in 76 countries and when it came out the italian government put the director in jail for a while. There are good reasons for most of this. CH contains some of the most realistic depictions of rape, cannibalism, torture, and animal/people mutilation ever filmed (for all you peta members out there, the animals were actually killed and mutilated on camera for the making of this motion picture).

To be honest, I'm a little upset that this movie is seeing a major release on DVD. I've seen CH all the way through and I firmly believe it's one of those movies that should only be traded amongst creepy old guys in trenchcoats in a dark alley where rats breed.

Anyway, if you absolutely have to open this pandora's box or say "nineteen" or whatever, just make sure you know what you're getting into. This is about as close as movies get to actual snuff films. Don't take any dates/girlfriends/boyfriends to see this thinking you'll have a good time. That's a freaking retarded idea. This is the hard stuff, boys and girls. This movie is mentally and emotionally disturbing. It won't entertain you or anyone you watch it with. It will only make you feel dirty and some of you will wish you had never seen it.

Yes they were.  They cut open a sea turtle and ripped its insides out while it squirmed, and if memory serves me correctly, they also cut the top half of a monkey's skull off.

I had a friend who bought this movie and got as many people as he possibly could together to watch it.  I was among those people, and I'm going to have to agree that this is a disgusting and disturbing film.  And by the way, the sea turtle they killed wasn't just a little sea turtle or anything.  This was a full-grown, 3 or 4-foot giant sea turtle that was probably at least 50, if not 100, years old.  This movie is sick and deserves all of the banning and controversy surrounding it and a little more.

It's funny how people react when you tell them how sick this movie is. I warn people about this sometimes and they often don't believe me. A lot of stupid kids think that because they've seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Exorcist that they've seen horror to the extreme. They don't understand that this is something else altogther. This isn't really a horror movie. It's more like violent pornography made by people who should be locked up (and were for a while). Den68 hit the nail right on the head when he compared this movie to some of the things on the internet he regrets seeing. This movie will give you the same feeling as the first time you saw Tubgirl and Goatse.cx and whatever else makes your skin crawl.

On an interesting side note, any 12 year old can walk into Best Buy and purchase this movie right now, but they won't carry GTA:SA because of its content. Funny how that double standard works.

P.S. They cut the monkey's head off in Indiana Jones and CH. The difference is that in CH, it's a real monkey and it's a lot nastier.

I regret reading this thread. It has got me curious about this movie. I Googled it and found a few reviews to read. Comparisons were made to others films like Cannibal Ferox and the Men Behind the Sun series. now I'm curious about them too. I don't really want to see any of them but when that morbid curiosity grabs you... like the Evil Leon said the one that makes you click that tubgirl or goatse link. AGH!

I dont really care about the gross shit done to people. But I dont like watching animals get hurt.

I have seen a couple of the Faces of Death and those don't really bug me. Until they kill animals and then I just get really pisssed.

I have heard about the faces of death things and those sond prety insane too.

The worst thing i can remember seeing was one of the "screamers" and after going thru the first 2 semi funny things with sexual images/meanings hidden in them you the 3rd one after a few seconds just flashed about 100 images of dead people cut up many of most of which where babies if memory serves. It was done soo quick too that by the time you fully realized it you where already freaked out and when you closed your eyes the images where burned into them.

I told some friends about this one.
One of them is wicked into nasty and gory stuf and the other one gets sick over nothing.
Hopefully they watch it together if one of them gets it.

Same here man!  At first I just got really curious to watch this movie, for the same reasons as Den mentioned, but when you guys said that they cut a monkey's skull open and the thing with the sea turtle, that's just totally wrong...that makes me not want to waste any time on even considering watching the movie ;)

Yeahh.... Although I am curious I feel the same way about hurting animals as Tynstar and Speedy_NES.  So I think I'll skip this one.

Call me weird or whatever you want, but this is great news to me that this is finaly out on dvd (didnt wanna buy one of those crap versions on ebay which I almost did). I'm a huge fan of horror films, and I have a strange fascination with cannibals and such, I just find it interesting.
I read up about this movie, and I think I will love it (www.houseofhorrors.com is a great horror site)
I visit ogrish.com sometimes when Im in the mood to view that kinda stuff, and am also a big fan of the faces of death videos (I first started watching them when I was very young, 7 years about) one of my favorites on those films is when a guy is ripped in half by teo horses running in opposite directions and they tie his arms and legs togehter. Anyway thanks for letting me know this is finlay out on dvd!
