Please do NOT use the chat room! The boards went down yesterday because the chat room was putting a huge load on the server and our host disabled YaBB.pl. Apparently the current chat software is not very server-load friendly. This is also probably why some users have noted the site has been a bit slow the past few days. I will be uninstalling the current chat room as soon as I am on my PC this evening. At that point I will begin looking into other chat room options for the boards, as I would like to continue to offer this as a feature at the site. IRC chat will be a likely candidate, though I am not promising anything permanent at this time. Again, until tonight, please refrain from using the chat room so that our host doesn't shut off the boards again for causing huge (and I mean huge) server load. EDIT: As a temporary solution until I can uninstall the old chat and install a new one, please use this link for a chat room: http://rfgeneration.com/cgi-sys/mchat.cgi?channel=rfgeneration.com You will need to type "/NICK your_username" when you enter the room so that your username shows up when you type instead of "unknown". Type "/HELP" for other options in the chat room above. Remember - a more final solution will come later. I am really surprised that it loaded the server that much, must be some pretty poor coding. If it was taking up too much bandwidth, which I find very odd, there is a setting where you can change the refresh rate so it waits longer between refreshes.
