Title: Phillips CD-i Post by: Izret101 on July 09, 2004, 11:10:10 AM Does anyone know alot about this or could someone point me in the right direction for information about this system. The store I go to has a ton of stuff for it but i dont know the prices yet on it yet. But i figure they're not asking to much for anything because they are pushed back on the bottom shelves collecting dust with a bunch of other older stuff.

Title: Re: Phillips CD-i Post by: den68 on July 09, 2004, 01:12:13 PM unless you can get it absolutely dirt cheap don't bother. it's not much to speak of in terms of game play. a vast majority of the CD-i titles are edutainment.
I have one because my affliction is such that I have to have everything but if it's solid gameplay you're after you'd be sorely dissapointed. Title: Re: Phillips CD-i Post by: Izret101 on July 09, 2004, 01:49:01 PM I am going more for an obscure collectors of value than gameplay.
I know almost everything on it is eduatainment or not game related I am almost positive on was the Encyclopedia Brittanica. Thanks for the input guys. I think i will hold off on that for now, unless i can get them dirt cheap like you say. Anyone have a different point of view? Title: Re: Phillips CD-i Post by: shadytool on July 09, 2004, 03:30:01 PM there are the three "Zelda" games and Hotel Mario on that system. now i have never played on one before but i hear that Hotel Mario is very addictive and is a good game.
out of the three zelda games only one is worth playing or even close to Nintendo's standards for zelda games. (i have only heard these things cause i havent ever played one.) also plan to put down some scratch for that zelda game. its not cheap. now if you do some searching on this topic you will find that a second Mario game was planned but never finished or released. the screen shots are impressive and i feel it is a shame that this game never came out. i do feel that the system is a good part of VG history if nothing else for the affiliation with nintendo and the history behind the system itself. Title: Re: Phillips CD-i Post by: Izret101 on July 09, 2004, 03:43:37 PM I am pretty sure the rare Zelda game was wand of gannon or wand of something i dont remember.
I have this posted on digitpress also and i am getting no responses. Just under 4500 members and no responses thanks you guys for your help. :) Title: Re: Phillips CD-i Post by: T on July 09, 2004, 04:34:54 PM Hotel Mario is a very good game. I got the zelda games just because I must own every zelda game There are other games worth getting like.... 1 7th quest 2 Burn: cycle 3 voyeur thunder in paradise is worth some laughs Good luck Title: Re: Phillips CD-i Post by: Izret101 on July 09, 2004, 07:00:19 PM I went to Ebay to see what the average price for a CD-i game would be (what cant ebay do?) and i found an... interesting title http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50227&item=8116195129&rd=1

I would love to see them again Title: Re: Phillips CD-i Post by: Mike Leon on July 16, 2004, 10:19:46 PM Way back in the day, when this system was new and really popular (NOT!!). Nep and I knew this guy who spent all of his money on a CD-I instead of an N64 and insisted it would be the next big thing. He used to brag about how he had a CD-I and no one else had one. Eventually, he pissed me off about something and I beat his ass. The moral of the story is CD-I sucks, and if you buy one I might beat your ass too.
