You unlock Mario, Luigi, and Wario over the course of the game.  I think you unlock Luigi first (although I could be wrong).

Cool ok cheers... Just seemed a bit silly to call it Mario 64 DS when you did not actually play as mario.

Cheers ;-)

I have this game and have beaten is 100%.  It is an awesome game and yes you start as Yoshi.  You can unlock Mario as early as 1o stars I believe but you do unlock Mario, Luigi, and Wario and can play as them also.

Mario 64 DS!!!!!! Sigh, yet another reason for me to shell out the dough for a DS.

As much as changes might seem like they are needed for ports, I would have prefered them just leaving it as mario only, or maybe just mario/luigi. Playing as wario is pretty pointless beyond the levels that require him.

I just picked up this game & really enjoy it. My wife got me 2 nintendo DS's & 2 games (Mario Kart DS & Super Mario 64 DS). When I asked why are you giving me 2 DS's & she followed by saying," so we can compete in mario kart". lol. So far I have 25 stars & unlocked Mario. I have 2 mini game keys, but haven't really tried to obtain them really. Any how, this game gets a 5/5.

I agree.  This game gets a 5/5 in my book, too.  I thought I wouldn't like it because I have Mario 64 for the N64 and I thought it would be the same thing over again but they changed it enough that it is awesome!!

What I favor in particular about this game is that it does not rely solely on the touch-screen. Many gimmick-games lately utilize the touch-screen as if classical button-mashing is no way to play. Giving the player a choice to use either is something that more companies need to consider.

Yes. It's amazing people can use the stylus in place of the d-pad while playing this game. I tried it on the slide inside the princess peach room & I fell off time and time again. :D     I'll just stick with the d-pad. :)
