Title: Re: Sony finally kills one of its own Post by: Arrrhalomynn on March 26, 2006, 01:18:34 AM Why would they waste production capacity on this thing, when they didn't have enough PSP's?? Idiots.

Idiots. Perhaps the PSX factory couldn't be retooled for the PSP.  I don't see why it couldn't be, just throwing it out there. Does this make PSX a collector's item officially? Title: Re: Sony finally kills one of its own Post by: Izret101 on March 26, 2006, 01:34:53 PM It means that we are officially in Next Gen as in the PS2, Xbox, Gamecube gen ;)

Title: Re: Sony finally kills one of its own Post by: Izret101 on March 27, 2006, 04:55:13 PM I have 2 different model "original" PS1s and one of the PSOnes.
I was surprised that it was still being produced too though. I was really surprised at that little bit at the bottom of the article too. About the 2600 finally ending production in '91. Kidding. They recently stopped making games for the PSX right? Title: Re: Sony finally kills one of its own Post by: Izret101 on March 27, 2006, 06:15:23 PM End of 2k4 early 2k5

Didnt Nintendo just stop making the Famicon in the alst few years? Or did they finally stop supporting it? I have to wonder if that's true at all. Sony keeps saying they don't have enough, but I'm trying to sell one on Ebay for well under the MSRP value. No one will buy it. That says something. Title: Re: Sony finally kills one of its own Post by: Cham Zord on April 06, 2006, 11:18:41 AM It's not quite a surprise that they did away with PSX's production, considering the backwards compatability seen in the PS2. That, and the whole emulator/ISO downloading on the Internet. I guess cancelling its production would be in good business acumen.
Title: Re: Sony finally kills one of its own Post by: Rejinx on April 08, 2006, 11:52:13 PM I can't see why anyone would have bought a PSX new in the last 2 years. I pick up a used one for 7 bucks about a month ago. There cheap as dirt everywhere.
Title: Re: Sony finally kills one of its own Post by: Zanicnight on May 12, 2006, 10:55:32 AM yea I am about to pick up a used PSX just for the hell of it, like Rejinx said they are cheap.
