RF Generation Message Board

Anybody playing Black?  I'm really enjoying this game, but I can't stand how long the individual missions are.  

I like to play for 30 minutes at a time but the missions take much longer than that and I find it frustrating.  

The graphics are great, the realism is pretty good, etc.  The lack of multiplayer sux.

Anybody else playing and have an opinion?  

I thought this looked like a worthy pick up, but I simply dont have the time or funds to burn on another game at the moment.

You think it would be a worthy pick up down the road Dave?

Oh, I'd rate it a solid 8 or 9.  In fact, it's what I wish Halo would be more like.  

You know how I love playing Marines on H2 for the realism?  The strategic movements rather than run and gun?  This game has that.  

I'm guessing it will probably drop to $19.99 within another month or 2...maybe I'll get it then.

Is it better than Half Life 2?

It's hard to be better than HL2. I really enjoyed Black, as short as it was.  Half Life 2 was superior especially with regards to the story.  Black's story was pretty generic while Half Life 2 was more compelling with more imaginative weapons and level design.

But lets face it,  Black was never about the story.  It's about the guns.  Have fun blowing stuff up.

I liked Black but it just has a few things that keep it from being really good. First off there are about 4 enemies in the whole game all of which take almost a full clip to take down, the story is really meh and you can't skip the cut scenes, and check points are spread very far apart which can be a problem.
