What does your user name represent? Did you make it up or earn it?

Mine is captain nintendo.
When I was younger, I remember watching the Nintendo power hour and they had a "Captain N".

That kind of stuck with me and since I like the NES, I just changed the N to Nintendo. That's pretty much the story there.

Well mine is from the NES Irem game Metal Storm.  I Realy like this game.  

When I was a kid I had more NES games than anyone else that I knew.  Although, it wasn't very many I kept up with what games were good and what sucked etc.

So, eventhough I thought I knew what all was out there that was good back in the day, I've realized that there are so many awesome games out there that I have never heard of during the NES' (or any other system's) heyday.    

Metal Storm was the first game that I found that was good shockingly awesome that I had never heard of.  

My username....Well, it's not really a good story.  I had this name for my AOL IM when I was young.  Someone told me once (it's cheezy, be careful), that my singing voice was mezmerizing.  My brother on the otherhand, always called me a moron.  So, when choosing a username for AOL, I was getting frustrated with all the chosen names that I wanted, and thus was born Mezmoron.

Jagdiesel was the name I chose over at AtariAge back when I joined.  
I was collecting the Atari Jaguar, so thats where the Jag came from.  
Diesel was my nickname when I was a firefighter "damn, Mote hit that guy like a Mack truck.  That guy's a fucking diesel."

I chose "atari_" because I grew up with the atari 2600. It was and still is my favorite system to play. I chose "_wizard" because, I used to watch The Masters of the Universe (He-man) religously. Orko was definitely my favorite character as he was a whacko magician/wizard that could never get his tricks right. So, I registered onto atari age as  "atari_wizard" & haven't looked back since.

Well when I joined, I joined as The Other Leon, which was kind of a running joke in the Leon family, and then I turned Maligned and then I got on a Godfather binge and was a Cor-Leon-e then I got on a Dirty Harry binge and here I am.

Tynstar was the evil character from this book.

I used that as my screen name on AIM almost 10 years ago and have used it ever since.

My name comes from an idea I had when I first heard about the internet way, way back when it was just starting to develop.  I thought, wouldn't it be great if there was a place that you could go on the internet for information on any topic you could think of?  Like a "portal" to a different area...kinda arranged like an encyclopedia...type in a topic name, hit enter, and you could get a list of different places (portals) you could go on the internet to get the information you needed.

Unfortunately, the people who invented Yahoo! and Google beat me to it.  My name is my albatros I wear around my neck, to remind me of what almost was...sigh.

I did not come up with the name myself.We have game nights with colllegues no and then and they mostly like new gen stuff.
Corse i cant stop talking about my NES and games and so and one of them started calling me a nesaholic.
Always making jokes like '8 bit is the future bro', hehehe.Enfin i got used to the name and started using it as my nickname on forums.

I got the nickname  way back in high school.  Everyone said I looked like Shaggy from Scooby-Doo.  Well the rest is history!!

My head. Although, upon later discovery, I found out that a Zord was something from Power Rangers (ugh) and cham is a combination of ham and cheese. So it's like a ham and cheese robot, or something...

In highschool everyone thought I was a freak (which I'm quite proud of) so I just kind of went with it.

So eventually will you have to change it to Freak_Man ?  :laugh:

I wanted to make the shortest named that I could think of that sounded real and would never be taken on any site.  so I typed in some letters and Rejinx come out.  I later add Wulf as a last name just for kicks.  To this day I have never had to uses numbers after my name.  
         Man that is a boring story.

I HATE numbers after usernames.  That's a big reason I was getting mad when choosing my name.

From what I was told when I was real young my Dad called me buddy, which came out bummy when I repeated it.  That stuck and eventually got shorted to bum which ended up as my nickname within my family while growing up.  Some time in my twenties one of my siblings was joking that I couldn't be just bum anymore since I was grown up, at that time bum-man was born.  It's been my online name since I have been on the internet.

No plans to change it to freak man.  I want to stay young forever and part of my theory is that I can't get any older if I keep my user name as freak boy.  Plus it sounds better that way.

Not many people would willingly work in this set of locations for 4 years, so I became known as Trader Jake for being out there every year.

Izret = Terzi backwards.

I ran into the problem of swapping ISP's ALOT and not being able to use Izret over and over.
So thats why i have numbers at the end of it.

To make a long story short, my username came from my own name Pieter aka Piet / Pete.  It started once with SpeedyPetey, then turned into Speedy or SpeedyPiet.  Since Speedy is a pretty popular nickname, I added the NES to it at the various gaming forums that I'm signed up at, to somewhat differentiate myself from the others (and because I mainly collect NES) ;)

 wrldstrman.....worlds strongest man...Me and my weight lifting buddy were into the worlds stongest man so I started calling him magnus  after magnus ver magneson and I just used wrldstrman..I stuck with it because I go to dozens of sites and use the same user name...

Weird, I always read it as neopile.

My screen name comes from breaking into an abandoned subway, a goth, speed pills, furries, a guy who speaks something like 9 different languages and worked as a translator for a special ops team, and an argument over the internet over the appropriate time to use German.

Mine is a combination of a couple of things, one of which is interesting.

The latter part of my name, "ErGII", comes from a time when I tried to enter my name (Erik) in the original Dragon Warrior...using the Power Glove. 'ErGII' was as close as I could get before giving up. It's stuck with me ever since.

The "Invader" part of my name comes from Invader Zim, one of my favorite shows. Every 'invader' on the show typically has a 3 or 4 letter non-word for a name, and so the combination of 'Invader' and 'ErGII' suddenly made a lot of sense, and it was unique.

So...there ya go.

My favorite sports town is buffalo, I was 27 years old before I made the name because I'm 28 now :laugh:

I too have used this name and the name Kinjitie on various websites over the years because every name I wanted was taken.  Wish there was some funny story attached to it.  Sorry.

Not all that interesting really, but here goes.  I was trying to think of an egay screen name, something catchy that people could remember pretty easy.  I decided that I wanted to keep all my s/n the same so I just stuck with the nationalgamedepot.  If I decided to collect something other than NES, the name still works ;)  I sign all my posts ~~NGD cause I am WAY to lazy to type out the whole name. :P

My name is Josh, and a friend of mine had the habit of trying to come up with "catchy" nicknames.  He used to call me Joshie Washi Kobayashi, which unfortunatly stuck with my group of friends.  Most of them would just call me JWK for short.

Anyway, I needed a username a few years ago and decided to start using it online too.

  Well for me, my user name is from the 2 things I loved as a kid, my Atari 2600 and American Pitbulls.  My parents bought me my first 2600 system around 1981 and my first Pitbull at the same time, now I am 34, with a wife and 2 kids, plus I now have my own Atari collection room, which you can see some of it if you hit my website, plus this summer, I will be getting my kids there very first Pitbull puppy, which my daughter is very happy to have.

I chose the name RetroYoungen because I figured when I first joined the Digital Press forums back about four years ago that I was the youngest person on the board (I think I was, too).  So I've had it ever since.  I've shortened it in some places to just ReYo, but the Youngen is always gonna be my full name on boards.

mines short for Tanthalas Quisif nan-Pah, Tanthalas has been my handle since you could name your own character option started back in the 80's, and i'm still a fan of Dragonlance to this day and use his human name of Tanis from time to time as well.

Good ol' Tanis, might just have to break out Autumn Twilight now. Although the Twins trilogy was my fave.

Afer seeing his avatar I was thinking about reading those books again as well.
