Title: Shining Force Post by: TRAY on May 11, 2006, 02:04:21 AM Been playing this game last two days...
(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/fr/thumb/d/d0/Shining_force.png/250px-Shining_force.png) Everything fits perfect in this game... Title: Re: Shining Force Post by: Speedy_NES on May 11, 2006, 03:31:05 AM Nice man, definitely worthwhile buy ;) I remember Shining Force on the Game Gear, also a great game, but probably a bit different because I remember the fights being more like that of a turn-based strategy game.
Title: Re: Shining Force Post by: TRAY on May 11, 2006, 04:07:13 AM So much what they call a working day...have been relaxing for one and a half hour right now, anyway I am getting rich.
Anyway heading home in about 2 and a half hour... Title: Re: Shining Force Post by: Sauza12 on May 12, 2006, 04:52:49 AM I love Shining Force. The only ones that I have played out of the series are the first one and the third one, and it is amazing how well those games have held up over the years.
Has anyone played Shining Force Neo yet? I was wondering how it stacked up to the older games. Title: Re: Shining Force Post by: TRAY on May 12, 2006, 06:46:51 AM True that!
Looks like a huge chess-game...with some extra options and shit and a big ass storyline... Back in the days this stuff would keep you busy during whole summer holiday! Title: Re: Shining Force Post by: yap on May 12, 2006, 09:25:59 AM Is this the game that makes you play for like an hour without having the ability to save?
I hate games like that. Title: Re: Shining Force Post by: TRAY on May 15, 2006, 04:45:57 AM Hmm well if I am correct you can save during the whole game...just have to went to the priest!
Title: Re: Shining Force Post by: yap on May 15, 2006, 07:16:04 AM Yeah, but what about in the middle of a level?
IE: you're on some level that takes over an hour, no way to save right? You have to finish the battle and go back to town or whatever. Unless I'm thinking of a different game. Title: Re: Shining Force Post by: Mezmoron on May 15, 2006, 07:27:53 AM You're right Yap. But the good thing was, your hero has egress, and you can leave any fight instantly and save. Yeah, you have to do that fight from the start again, but you did keep any experience that you got previously.
Ken Title: Re: Shining Force Post by: yap on May 15, 2006, 07:36:52 AM It's a pretty fun tactical strategy game though.
I think I prefer Warsong for some reason. Which, if you haven't tried, and you like Shining Force you should check it out! Title: Re: Shining Force Post by: TRAY on May 16, 2006, 01:33:37 AM Played almost al evening yesterday...was difficult to stop playing and
going to bed... But a little thing bothered me. My team includes archers and knights, both groups can attack from a distance. I was battling a creature cald lizardman, some snipers and a magicianguy from a little distance, and when the enemy could move or attack the only thing they did was standing still doing nothing... After the battle my archers and knights still had all their lives, didnt even had a scratch, while the enemy was been shut down... And also a smart thing is to leave the main character out of the battle, cause when he suffers and dies the game is over...I was keeping him in the back all the time. Only time he came into action was for giving the final hit. Maybe the AI could have been better and the enemy tries to head to the main character and attack him... |
