I am looking in to getting phantasy star for it. I was just playing Double Dragon and in my opinoin it is better then the NES version. Also Rampage seems to be a bit better as well.

I have a bunch of SMS games, yet no system.  I really need to get one.  Think I'll look at ebay right now.

I've got 4 or 5 Master Sytems and about 100 games between the US and Euro. I can't say I've played any of them a ton but what I have played I enjoyed.

I think the 3D glasses are a nice touch, I mean the 3D games or not all that 3D even with the glasses but it is a cool idea.

I wish I was sitting on a 100 or so SMS games myself.

I love the Master System.  I have around 30 games, and I have only found 1 or 2 games that were bad.  Too bad it never really took off in the US.  It is a nice little system.

if you have a genesis 1, look for a power base convertor, much cheaper and more efficient use of space than sprining for an SMS

I recently made that same decision with my PSX games.

SMS is a side project now. Who knows if I will continue with it.

Awesome Zanic, you da man  :king:  I have a few crappy games for you the next time you come down.   look at my profile, I have a folder labaled "Stuff for zanic"
You don't have to get me a SMS.  I would be happy with a SNES.  I can't find one for under $30 anywhere.

Man you know it took some time for one of us to fall and we had no idea who was going to fall.

Cool Rejinxs I can hunt down a Snes as well. I have one some where but the power connection in the back is kind of screwy once you have it connect yo might have to tape it down to make sure it don't move and screw up when you playing a game.

It did take forever and a day to knock you down for good.

I friend and I tried to play every US SMS game alphabetically in 15 minute increments without stopping for anything.  We recorded our play with a voice over and wrote down some comments.

We got to just before Poseidon Wars 3D before we were going to kill each other from lack of sleep.

I think we're going to try it again sometime.

Whew!  28 and a half hours of gaming!  It's quite a task, but damn if it doesn't sound fun.  :D

I might add from our experience quality games include:

Action Fighter - Like Spy Hunter... with jets!
Alex Kidd Series minus High Tech World - Well, it wasn't that bad but it's very different from the rest.
Blade Eagle 3D - Fun 3D fighter!
Bomber Raid - Not a horrible horizontal shooter.
Captain Silver - Madness on a cartridge.
Dead Angle - EXCELLENT light gun game!
Fantasy Zone Series - Even The Maze is pretty cool, like pac-man... with jets!
Ghost House - Castlevania-ish, lots of fun.
Kenseiden - Amazing game.  Also Castlevania-ish but stellar in every category.  Even difficulty.  A must own.
Kung Fu Kid - Phantom Fighter/Kung-Fu style game.  Pretty easy from what we played but a lot of fun.
Montezuma's Revenge - Platform/Maze game that's similiar to Pitfall II.  Very good.
Phantasy Star - Knew it was great before hand, it's great!

Games that could be great with more time:

Golden Axe Warrior - Played like a poor man's Zelda.  Could be a rich man's Zelda if we'd played it longer.
Golvellius: Valley of Doom - Crystalis like, but has some almost shooter like levels (this IS a Compile game after all).  But very hard.  More time needed.

Good ports that won't displease:

After Burner - Harder because of issues with scrolling but visually it's very impressive.  Dominates the NES port.
Choplifter - Get to da CHOPPA!
Double Dragon - Co-op.  Any other questions?
Michael Jackson's Moonwalker - Like the mini Genesis version.  Quite good and great tunes.
Outrun - Plays excellently on the SMS.  Shows that Sega really did do what Nintendidn't.

Remember, we stopped at Phantasy Star, one day we'll play through the rest of them.

Just to add a couple games I really liked:

Zillion
Pick one of the Wonderboy games.
Zaxxon 3d
Ghostbusters
Pro Wrestling

I had to edit this a bunch because I kept adding games that Blissfulnoise already listed.

But Zillion and are Pro Wrestling both really good games.

I've got a friend that swears by Ghostbusters on the SMS, but I just don't get it.

It's cool you can upgrade your gear and car and stuff, but the rest of the game just seemed like a chore to get done.

Maybe I need to spend some more time with it.
