A card based RPG, you say? What could be more fun then that? To be honest, I have no clue since I have not played the game, but to all those who have, please, discuss.

I've also never played this game, but it does sound interesting.  It's funny that I've never played most of the recent featured games...I'm falling pretty far behind on new game releases thanks to my retro collecting habits ;)

I own this one but haven't played it yet. It looks interesting, though.

Speedy makes an excellent point, if anyone wants retro games or any games that currently haven't been featured then I highly recommend anyone writing reviews and overviews for the game they want. If a game has a review, overview, and some images then I will consider featuring them. I just won't be featuring anything that has nothing submitted to it, after all, how boring would it be if I featured a game that no one has submitted anything for!

Moral of the story... please to anyone out there, submit reviews, overviews, easter eggs, trivia... anything! for your featured game!

I was really interested in this game when it came out but i lost interest in it as i went longer and longer without playing it and heard less and less about it.

We must have a few more people who can give some insight on the game.

Baten Kaitos is easily the most fun RPG I have ever played. It has the best battle system in any RPG, and yes it is card based. Furthermore the story is outstanding with perhaps the most unexpected twists in any game.

It isn't completely amazing though, it does get knocked points for having terrible cutscenes(if you can call it that) and worse voice acting. The music however is outstanding.

The only reason I could figure people don't like it, and I'm right on the bullseye when I say this, is because they are really really bad at creating a deck and chaining combos. Most likely they don't know how to balance between offense and defense and properly combo.

If you manage to play through the entire game, or even until the big plot twist, you will not regret it.

Oh and, umm, retro gaming...

THis game could have the best story, controls and whatever else it can have the best of. I will never play it becasue it is a card game. :(

Your comment, Tynstar, is extremely short sighted, for it is not really a card game at all. All the "cards" are are the weapons, items, etc, and the player uses them like they would in any other RPG. It plays more like Final Fantasy 2(4) than any other RPG. I would highly recommend doing some research before you make assumptions. Watch the Gamespot video review or something and you will see how short sighted your comment truly is.

I just signed on to change that message because I realized how, not nice, the message came off. I just kinda go a little crazy every now and then about defending stuff I like.

Well Phantasy Star is one of my favorite series of all time and I will never play PSO III because becasue it is a card game. It doesnt matter if the "cards" are are just weapons or whatever.  The fact that is it is called a card game makes me not want to play it. Just like some people wont play a FPS or buy a system by whatever company becasue it is by that company.

Just an observation, this thread is getting dangerously close to becoming flaming (if it hasn't already crossed that line).

I agree with Tyn, cards should stay in the real world, not in my TV. Although they're OK in Metal Gear Ac!d because I said so.

I have heard of the game and have heard it is really good.

I don't think it'll cross the flaming line, after all it is an admin vs. another admin's brother, nothing can go wrong with that ja?

How good is this game?  The reviews I read were all good and the game looks awesome to me.  More opinions, please!

I don't rent.  I just buy!  Not worth it to me.  I'll get the game at some point I think unless you want to give me it :)

Hey now, this is my brother who is a God in all video games. He can do things with Super Metroid that should not be possible.

And he still goes to gamefaqs? Is he ill?

Of course I'm ill! Why else would I like a game with cards in it!
