its not spam.

There wasa  console made called the GP32 by Game Park and someone else it was mostly used for homebrewing and emulation.

This is the sucessor of it made by one of the 2 companies that splintered off of the original company.

Don't jump to spam conclusions on someone who has at least sopmewhat established themselves as a member like our good fellow TRAY has.

I didn't, very much. Sorry TRAY I still wouldn't buy something like that unless I held it and played it and dropped it first..

This thing doesn't look too bad man, but how much does it cost?  Also, I wouldn't count on any smooth emulation.  A lot of these types of handhelds or pda/hpc's claim to have lots of emulators, but most of them run at very slow frames per second...a lot of sound emulation is crappy as well.  If this system doesn't cost too much, though, then it may be worthwhile getting.

We are so quick to accuse anyone nowadays?

Our RF Generation spammers are wonderful people who like to say they are from places such as New York, Afghanistan. Tray, on the other hand, is Dutch, and has more than 3 posts.

Don't go scaring away new members now.

Think the problem with some people is,is how I started the subject...maybe looks a little spammy but its definitly not...

Getting back on topic I really was wondering if this thing is good enough to purchase or something...put the price is to high and probably the specifications aren't good enough...

If you listen to Retro Gaming Radio you will hear a lot ob the GP2X. If you are into Emulation it is a most have. That is all I know.

I heard about it a few months back, Hardcore Gamer Magazine did a schpeil on postable oddities and remarked on it.  I heard there were a lot of issues with the first run of the GP2X, but if those could be worked out it was a pretty sweet little system.  I think the GP32 is more preferred though, at the very least it looks like it might be able to take a hit, and from what else I heard the GP2X was a bit on the delicate side.

Still, if I had enough, I'd buy one.

EDIT: Wouldn't they get in trouble from more than a couple game companies for outright encouraging emulation on the system?  They're not saying it has a lot of ROMs specially made for it, but it's pushing that you can play them...

They are very pro homebrew though.

Though you can easily emulate older consoles thats is not what they are pushing as a selling point.
At least i didn't think it was...
Is it now?

It looks like it's pushing emulation to me, but that might just be me.  And I would think this might be one of the worst times to bring up that kind of thing with the Nintendo Wii starting such a deal about back catalogs and the whole fuss about backwards-compatability (though I don't think the GP2X is powerful enough to run some of the current-gen stuff, or even the 32/64-bit gen stuff, and I could be very wrong about that).
