Title: Marvel Ultimate Alliance Post by: Zimbacca on October 21, 2006, 02:53:37 AM Anyone else planning on getting it? I'm ridiculously excited about it. It has something like 140 Marvel characters in with 20 playable to start with including Spiderman, Wolverine, The Thing, Mr. Fantastic, Professor X, Nightcrawler, Thor, Iron Man, Ghost Rider, and Blade. Plus more that you can unlock along the way.
Check it out. http://www.marvelultimatealliance.com/ Title: Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance Post by: Tynstar on October 21, 2006, 08:54:05 AM I don't think I will get it when it comes out but it does look really sweet. I will get it when it drops in price some.

Title: Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance Post by: Izret101 on October 23, 2006, 04:35:37 PM I'll have to look into it.
I like Fighting games, i like Marvel characters, and i like allot of characters in one game. I probably won't be able to afford it as a release title though. Title: Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance Post by: phoenix1967 on December 01, 2006, 12:57:57 PM Rented this one last week for the 360. It's very good! Activision tweaked some things to improve on the gameplay they've established in Xmen Legends 1 and 2. The health and special ability pickups are now allocated automatically to the team member with the least energy (a good thing). And you don't have to destroy as much of the environment to get bonus currency, items, etc.
Checkpoints (save points) seem appropriately spaced apart and character abilities seem balanced. Unfortunately, I only had enough time to play up through the 1st big boss (Fing Fang Foom). But I definitely wanted to play more. Graphically, it doesn't seem that big an improvement over the X-men games, but it's still good enough to represent that comic book "feel". I just wish that they'd be a little more creative with the "barrels" and "heavy objects" that get smashed. I did like the ability to wield objects like lead pipes and use them as a weapon. Not worth $60, but I'd say it's definitely worth $30. I'd buy it then (or less). |
