i suggest that December 2006 be turbografx 16 month. A month dedicated to a underestimated and suprisingly not well known consol.

thats the reason we should have a turbografx 16 month so people can notice this great consol that was before its time.

wow so many people dissin on the TG-16. Yous guys must really not have ever played a TG-16, cause if you had, you'd be wanting to spread the knowledge of what was probably the best shooter system in history.

My first memories of the TG-16 come from playing the kiosk they had set up outside of RadioShack, playing games like R-Type and Bonk's Revenge on a system using a turbo booster which made it look and sound fantastic. It left a lasting impression on me that started the ball for my love of variety and the obscure that continues to this day.

Having said that I think a week would suffice nicely, It's a great system and I love it dearly but it didn't become obscure and not well known because of it's huge library of classics  :P. You'd be hard pressed to find many people who could spit out a top 25 for it, and those who could probably share most of the same games on their lists.

I voted no but I like the idea of having a month dedicated to a system. I think we should start with a more popular system to get people posting then we can do lesser known systems. Maybe we could set up a forum that has a rotating theme.

If only it weren't so difficult to do this.

Yeah i like that idea, a rotating themed forum that goes month to month, could even have all of one system's polls, find's, interesting ebay items, reviews and discussions for that month for that system in one spot. The current one of the month stays at the top, after that it's switched with the newest one and joins the previous months underneath.

I think we need a Playstation year, and then a PC decade.

why start with a more popular system? bringing out the lesser known systems and drawing attention to them might get someone to try something new(old). but having an ongoing month to month sysytem showcase would be cool reguardless of what sysytem was featured.

why does it always seem like i am supporting the underdog? i.e. DC, TG-16, etc.

I say something more popular to get more people into the idea of a monthly forum. Then if it works out someone that doesnt know the featured system might take a look.

I said that cause of the colour schema and NES icons currently in use.  :P
