Title: Weekly IC Poll 1/7/07 Post by: shaggy on January 07, 2007, 11:14:07 AM Have you ever created a computer virus before? Of course it's all educational.
Title: Re: Weekly IC Poll 1/7/07 Post by: Tynstar on January 07, 2007, 12:46:32 PM Nope
I wouldn't know where to begin to make one. Plus I don't live in my parents basement or live out of country. Title: Re: Weekly IC Poll 1/7/07 Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on January 07, 2007, 03:13:56 PM I know someone who did, I think.
Title: Re: Weekly IC Poll 1/7/07 Post by: Tondog on January 07, 2007, 04:50:00 PM Never have done it, but it would be kind of interesting to try.
Title: Re: Weekly IC Poll 1/7/07 Post by: TraderJake on January 07, 2007, 05:05:31 PM Once Again a general disclaimer:
RF Generation doesn't endorse or advocate the creation of viruses or any other malware. The poll provided here is simply that, a poll. That being said, I would never dream of writing a virus. Title: Re: Weekly IC Poll 1/7/07 Post by: Three on January 07, 2007, 05:06:11 PM I had a coule from highschool. They just did stuff like fill up drives, print off pages when someone logs on, lock pictures onto screens, instant logoffs. That kind of stuff.
Title: Re: Weekly IC Poll 1/7/07 Post by: ganonbanned on January 07, 2007, 06:10:30 PM I thought about doing one and putting it on my moms computer for april fools day.
shaggy did you ever do one? Title: Re: Weekly IC Poll 1/7/07 Post by: JWKobayashi on January 07, 2007, 06:42:14 PM I've thought about it before, but there is no way I would these days. Not after there have been high profile cases of people getting arrested for writing them.

Not after there have been high profile cases of people getting arrested for writing them. I thought I might get arrested, or at least in trouble if I written one, but I would only do it on my PC for an experiment. and actually, now that I think about it, I know someone that did last year in 8th grade. im not joking. ti was only on there PC though. Title: Re: Weekly IC Poll 1/7/07 Post by: bum-man on January 07, 2007, 07:22:28 PM I would never dream of creating something like that. If you have ever had a virus wipe out your system then you know how much that sucks. Creating something to do harm to unsuspecting people (you don't even know) for no reason just doesn't make sense to me. I have created some harmless prank apps and played some jokes. The last one I did just sent a key sequence that flipped the screen upside down at random times.
Title: Re: Weekly IC Poll 1/7/07 Post by: Barracuda on January 07, 2007, 07:57:32 PM I never have. The whole idea behind making a virus is dumb in my opinion. That being said I know how to if I wanted to.
Title: Re: Weekly IC Poll 1/7/07 Post by: cverz2 on January 07, 2007, 09:26:15 PM I wrote a few in College several years ago. I got an As. Degree in Programming. So once you learn how to program, it's really very simple.
Although I did make harmless ones. Like pop ups, Fake folder deleting ( that was really funny ), and other little childish things that were just funny. But I would never make one that would go public. Title: Re: Weekly IC Poll 1/7/07 Post by: Hydrobond on January 07, 2007, 10:15:03 PM I had a coule from highschool. They just did stuff like fill up drives, print off pages when someone logs on, lock pictures onto screens, instant logoffs. That kind of stuff. If that counts then I would have to change my answer to "Yes".... Title: Re: Weekly IC Poll 1/7/07 Post by: shaggy on January 08, 2007, 11:59:54 AM I had a coule from highschool. If that counts then I would have to change my answer to "Yes".... Yup, it counts. Title: Re: Weekly IC Poll 1/7/07 Post by: shaggy on January 08, 2007, 12:02:43 PM No, I haven't done one but I would be interested in doing prank ones such as the ones listed above with the printing of the pages and logoffs and stuff.
Title: Re: Weekly IC Poll 1/7/07 Post by: tholly on January 10, 2007, 04:49:14 PM nope.....i wouldn't even know how.....
Title: Re: Weekly IC Poll 1/7/07 Post by: OatBob on January 19, 2007, 05:34:30 PM Its more fun rooting the system hands-on anyways.
