Title: Second Life Post by: Mike Leon on January 12, 2007, 09:55:19 PM Has anyone else messed with Second Life at all? I played with it for a little while the other day. I mean gay. It's like the Brokeback Mountain of video games gay. I'm still not saying it's bad. It just reminded me a lot of two men engaging in sexual acts with each other. P.S. And the men are wearing make-up. Title: Re: Second Life Post by: TurboGrafxer AKA DCer on January 12, 2007, 10:46:05 PM never played the game but 'the brokeback mountain of video games' thats hillarious.hahahaha and they are wearing makeup.
to be seriouse though. nothing has ever made me think of 2 men engaging in sexual acts with each other. :vomit: Title: Re: Second Life Post by: cverz2 on January 13, 2007, 07:36:21 AM A friend of mine told me about Second Life, He was addicted to it. I joined and only played one time and never went back.
They say you can take the money you make from the site and turn it into real money. Although it takes alot to get a little. Anyway I agree it was very lame and very gay. Title: Re: Second Life Post by: Pop Culture Portal on January 13, 2007, 09:10:20 AM I joined several months ago and played it once...it annoyed me for some reason and I never went back. Not worth all the hype.
Title: Re: Second Life Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on January 13, 2007, 11:42:00 AM I bet blocking doors in Habbo Hotel is much more entertaining.
Title: Re: Second Life Post by: Tynstar on January 13, 2007, 08:05:38 PM Never heard of it.
Title: Re: Second Life Post by: Cobra on January 13, 2007, 08:32:58 PM I bet blocking doors in Habbo Hotel is much more entertaining. That's always good for a laugh  Saw some people wanted Second Life on -Linspire So was curious to what this was about, by the sounds of it I'll give it a miss, I much rather my first life anyways. Title: Re: Second Life Post by: Arrrhalomynn on January 14, 2007, 07:46:48 AM It's a 'game' for furries.
Title: Re: Second Life Post by: Mike Leon on January 15, 2007, 01:45:27 AM It's a 'game' for furries. It's funny that you say that. One of the 4 or 5 starting avatar models is actually a "Furry". I made my avatar look something like Nosferatu. I might play around with it some more, just to see if it's possible to wreak havoc a la habbo hotel. Title: Re: Second Life Post by: shaggy on January 15, 2007, 09:25:18 AM Never heard of it. I never heard of it, either. What is it? Title: Re: Second Life Post by: Arrrhalomynn on January 15, 2007, 03:04:32 PM Never heard of it. I never heard of it, either. What is it? It's a 'game' for furries. This really says it all. Title: Re: Second Life Post by: Fuyukaze on January 15, 2007, 03:16:52 PM Here is the game I think....
http://secondlife.com/ I havent played it, but it looks creepy to me. Title: Re: Second Life Post by: shaggy on January 15, 2007, 03:36:02 PM Never heard of it. I never heard of it, either. Title: Re: Second Life Post by: cverz2 on January 15, 2007, 10:44:01 PM Second Life is somewhat like The Sims But alot worse......
Title: Re: Second Life Post by: Sauza12 on January 16, 2007, 01:49:42 PM Never heard of it. I never heard of it, either. What is it? It's a 'game' for furries. This really says it all. And what are these furries you speak of? I shudder to think of anyone else being made aware of these reprehensible folk, but furries are people that believe they are animals trapped in humans bodies, lust after various members of the animal kingdom, etc. They are a very creepy brand of hum...........anim............thing. Title: Re: Second Life Post by: ganonbanned on January 16, 2007, 07:39:21 PM never played the game but 'the brokeback mountain of video games' thats hillarious.hahahaha and they are wearing makeup. to be seriouse though. nothing has ever made me think of 2 men engaging in sexual acts with each other. :vomit: sure. Played once, and I completely agreeTitle: Re: Second Life Post by: JWKobayashi on January 17, 2007, 01:03:29 PM I guess I just don't get it. I did some research on the game"... I get the whole point of a MMO experience is interacting with people. But this game doesn't have an objective other than to live the life of your avatar character and spend real money on pointless in game stuff. Can someone explain the appeal?
Title: Re: Second Life Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on January 17, 2007, 03:39:24 PM Nope.
Title: Re: Second Life Post by: Cobra on January 18, 2007, 04:08:07 AM Title: Re: Second Life Post by: cauterize on January 21, 2007, 02:50:14 PM ugh don't get me started on Second Life, i hate the idea.
What makes it worse is that they're trying to implement it into my Multimedia design course at Art college, as they see it as a good form of advertising which should be studied... fair point, but i wanna be focusing on design, not some CG world..... All ive seen of it seems boring, dull and pointless... Buy shoes for your avatar, why not go buy some real shoes!? [/end rant] Title: Re: Second Life Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on January 22, 2007, 12:15:03 PM Reminds me of an article Shin Evil Leon showed me. I'll try and find it later.
P.S. Someone next to me in the library is playing 2nd life. Title: Re: Second Life Post by: Mike Leon on January 27, 2007, 11:59:01 PM Quote Reminds me of an article Shin Evil Leon showed me. I'll try and find it later. That article is from PWOT and I think we've discussed it here before. Here's the link: http://www.pointlesswasteoftime.com/games/wowworld.html Look, minding what I said before about Second Life being incredibly gay, it is important to keep an eye on it. There is almost no doubt that the future of video gaming and the internet may lie with Second Life. Linden labs has stated multiple times that they intend to make the Second Life code publicly available in the future and part of the plan is also to make modded areas and servers available through the network they already have. I cannot possibly underline the importance of that devlopment boldly enough. For those of you who know nothing about metaverses or technological singularity, i'll make it simple. Second Life is the primitive beginning of the Matrix (yeah, like the movie). It is already eerily similar to the metaverse described in Snow Crash, a book which heavily influenced the movie The Matrix. Even though it's really queer now, it is history in the making and it could get better later. Title: Re: Second Life Post by: Cobra on January 28, 2007, 12:13:58 AM I honestly don't see a future for Second Life, not in a massive scale way as just described anyway. In terms of people captured by it, it's dwarfed be WOW. Once it starts ranking up game related deaths like WOW then we know it's getting somewhere.
