My roomate's PS3 has never had a problem. My 360 is more than a year old and has yet to have a problem. Consoles are like car / everything else. I worked for GM for 9 years. We had as many problems as Ford, Dodge, Toyota....ect. Some people may have problems, while others may not. Sometimes that happens when you mass produce something. Mine hasn't had any problems either and it's been almost a year. As with anything it tends to be a few people who complain very loudly. They said the same thing about PSTwo's and after 2 years it's still working flawlessly. Title: Xbox 360 Problems chat Post by: Tynstar on March 02, 2007, 08:48:14 PM My 360 is having issues when loading games. Or it could be my PSU disc since that is the only game I ever play long enough to see it freeze.

I did that and it has done it twice since. Thanks Title: Xbox 360 Problems chat Post by: Tan on March 04, 2007, 08:51:50 PM I've also found that it's more reliable when it's sitting horizontal than when it's standing up. So i guess maybe it's easier on the drive when it's flat, a few other people i know with them find the same thing.

Title: Xbox 360 Problems chat Post by: Tan on March 04, 2007, 09:54:25 PM Always horizontal. Sorry, I had assumed from your collection pics you kept it that way. :P Title: Xbox 360 Problems chat Post by: Tynstar on March 04, 2007, 10:49:30 PM Always horizontal. Sorry, I had assumed from your collection pics you kept it that way. :P Actually that setup has totally changed. Plus when I did play it back then I always made it horizontal. One other thing, it's advised to not leave the disk in the unit before shutting down. I always remove mine. Question: When did you get your 360? Title: Xbox 360 Problems chat Post by: Tan on March 05, 2007, 02:23:04 PM The original xbox froze as well regardless of it's dvd drive. Game data even corrupted from time to time. It's just a part of the system, like PC's crashing. Wii's crash/freeze so does the PS3. They are random occurences in some cases fixable in others.
Sometimes I can go days/weeks without a freeze then one day get three. As with anything the more complex it is the more problems you'll have. All those people waiting for the "Xbox 360 2.0" or "Wii 2.0" or whatever will find not allot will have changed except they didn't get to play the first year or two of games when they were still new, popular and talked about. DS Lite is a fine example of that. I had to exchange mine twice for different problems, neither of which was the hinge. I also know that like the 360 overheating/freezing is a less common problem than people are led to beleive. Most tend to view what they hear/read/see as complete unexaggerated truth so it overhypes the issue. I can understand Tynstar's frustration, a few games gave me that problem as well, some were fixed others weren't, other times i knew it was the hardware and not the game. I am not following your statement? Take the disc out before shutting down? I usually never take PSU out. Oh last night I played 5 straight games of hockey and no freezing. Title: Re: Xbox 360 Problems chat Post by: phoenix1967 on March 05, 2007, 03:12:32 PM The majority of problems I've heard of with the 360 are from launch or near-launch units.
My understanding is that if you leave the disk in, the disk itself is more susceptable to damage than if you remove it after each use. I've heard that to be the case for all consoles. I'm wondering if your PSU disk has been damaged in some way, especially since you mentioned having no problems with hockey. Title: Re: Xbox 360 Problems chat Post by: Tan on March 05, 2007, 03:16:42 PM I've heard that being the case if you move the 360 while a disc is in it but not under any other circumstances.
Title: Re: Xbox 360 Problems chat Post by: James on March 05, 2007, 03:24:23 PM I've had my 360 since October and aside from a few freezes there haven't been any problems. The freezes were mostly in PGR3 at the same point while quickly flipping through menus, so most likely a bit of bad coding.
Title: Re: Xbox 360 Problems chat Post by: Tynstar on March 05, 2007, 03:25:19 PM It looks OK. I will check it out tonight and report back. It is always when it is loading the next room or whatever when playing online so it might just be Sega.
