Seeing as how the focus of this week is the often overlooked genre of sports on RFGeneration, I decided it would be wonderful to make the featured game a very easy to understand, yet undeniably fun, wrestling game for the NES. I know me and my brothers have wasted countless hours playing this game. In my opinion, it is easily one of the top contendors for the best 8-bit sports game, and is in fact the best 8-bit, likely even 16-bit, wrestling game.

Please feel free to discuss anything you want about this often overlooked gem.

Boo sports!

Well I never played this one. The only wrestling game I ever played with regularity was Smackdown on PSX, and that was mostly because of the sexy customizable ladies and therefore interesting lesbian porno looking matches me and my friends created.

Is this the one that played each wrestlers theme song on the playetr select screen. Select Hogan, and you're treated to an 8bit version of "Real American."

Excellent game back in the day. I may have to step away from PSU for a while to play this tonight.

I nearly bought this game a year ago.

But I didn't.

So I can't comment.

I'm not into wrestling anyway.

I was into Wrestlemania The Arcade Game on the ol SNES back in the day. I never played this one though.

It's the only NES WWF game with character specific moves.  Their games went downhill from here, to the mediocre Steel Cage Challenge and the downright abyssmal King of the Ring.  Too busy developing their 16-bit titles to care about the good ol' NES I guess.  Great pick!

Yeah right!

The only wrestling games I played a lot of are Royal Rumble on the Genesis and Smackdown on the PSX.

That's either Wrestlemania or Wrestlemania Challenge. I have both so I'll check for you.
