Title: Serious family problems
Post by: Izret101 on September 13, 2004, 05:51:51 PM
Today was my grandmother and great uncles birthday(they are twins, they turned 65). I was at their house with some other family when my great uncle got a call from a doctor (no big surprize) well after about 5 minutes he came back into the room and said something to my grandfather who inturn said at barely a wisper "they found cancer cells...". Noone heard this at the time but me under a minute later my mom knew about it but we nobody else has been told yet as far as i know. I will keep posting here about how things go because i am getting sick of keeping shit like this bottled up.
This is complete shit because shit like this keeps happening to people in my family and to good friends of my family.
I am sure i will post here again so if you think i'm going to bring you down dont read it. Those arnt my intentions i just needed a place to gather some of my thoughts and get some stuff off my chest.

Anyone else feel free to post in here too. I don't this to be a pity Anthony zone. I realize stuff like this happens to alot of people in alot of places and there are much worse off than me. But this was just to try and clear my head i guess.

Hey, good luck with that man.  It's always rough when something like that goes down in your family.

And feel free to vent here as often as needed.  God knows everyone else here has done it a time or two.

Ouchiez, good luck to you an yer family dude. I dunno what to say really. My brother and grandfather died of cancer, I've been tested several times and am currently awaiting results myself (last doctor visit produced abnormalities in a previous test)... Life licks donkey balls, life rocks. All ups and downs (mostly downs it seems for most people). Either way just appriciate the time you got with everyone while you got it. That's about all anyone can do really.

yeah, good luck dude. My and my wifes family both have histories of health problems so I know how rough it can be. Not much you can do but hang in there.

just remember that your geek brethren are here to prop you up.

Thanks much for the support here.
I am not looking foreward to getting old because of the prevelance of sickness and just general unlucky health problems in my family.
And best of luck to you Laurel and whoever else has any issues that arise.
Hopefuly this thread and ones like it can be left to lie low for awhile.
In the mean time i am going to get back to being my usual self.

the self that takes little heed of grammer and punctuation for starters ;) (just kidding Arr)

I'm pretty lucky as far as health problems go in my family.  Alcoholism has been an issue for some in my extended family (not immediate family though), but that's something that is easily prevented: I don't ever drink, and never will.  A few family members have had tumors, but all were small and caught early, so no real damage was ever done.  A close friend of mine, however, has afamily with all kinds of health problems, and it freaks me out to no end.  Good luck with all that stuff, man, because the god that doesn't exist sure as hell isn't going to do anything about it.

Thanks and those are definately my thought on it. I know people who are so religious it is scary and then they get muged and thier car destroyed in the same week (no lie it was my religion teacher) and  screwed up stuff like that.
But my great uncle has throat cancer. He has alot of health problems anyways so i guess its just something else to the checklist.
