Has anyone heard anything more about this?

Well, the SCE France President said that exclusivity for FF XIII is in discussion. So, I'm taking that to mean that Sony is pushing it to be exclusive for PS3, which wouldn't surprise me at all seeing how FF7-12 (except 11, since it's all online and shiznit) were all exclusive to a Sony platform. Plus, putting FFXIII on 360 would not be a good move as the userbase is simply not there in Japan for it.

But it would help the 360 in Japan if it was released for the 360.

FF XI for the 360 sold pretty well considering it's age. Though I don't think XIII would be 360 bound, it would sell well if it did.

That's what they thought about Blue Dragon as well, and 360 has sold 24,424 less units in the 69 weeks following launch than the original Xbox did in the same amount of time. Big help, eh?

Oh, by the way, Blue Dragon has sold a meager 138,687 units in Japan thus far.

I didnt think it would help much. I would help a lot if it was exclusive but that won't happen.

If it goes to the 360, no lie, PS3 is ****ed. If the Final Fantasy series wasn't a system seller to millions well then castrate me right now (for the PS1 and PS2 that is).

Absolutely. FF is probably the worst thing that Sony could lose, and they know it. So, I think that Sony is going to do anything to make sure that they maintain that exclusiveity.

I don't even know if keeping the series in the PS3 is enough to save it. The main reason I was loyal to the PlayStation in the past was because of the FF series, but at $600 I can't afford it anymore (something I probably have in common with many, many other FF fans)

I'm sure it will drop in price around when FF XIII comes out.

Even with a price drop, how many people are going to buy a PS3 for $400-$500 for FFXIII?

The same amount of people, if not more, who would buy a 360 for $400 for Halo 3.

Box.

I guess I just have to accept that this is really a new generation of video games.

As long as Sony has Square Enix they should do fine. Furthermore, if the rumors of a remake of FFVII are true... well then I'm sure PS3 will do fine and dandy.

Hmm I wonder if there is more Halo of FF fans.

I'm not gonna lie, I would be very tempted to buy a PS3 if those rumors are true (and I don't really think that they are). FFVII was the reason I switched to Sony in the first place.
