I've slammed my controller many times. But fortunately never broke one outright.

Gotta admit it probably didn't help the life of it, though... ;)

Obliterated a Madcatz Xbox controller, one of two I had at that time. I swear it shattered before it hit the floor it sucked so bad. Never bought a Madcatz anything since.  :ninja:

I've come close to ripping my N64 controllers in half, but them things are tough. 
No other damage to systems/controllers has been due to frustration, just stupidity.

But I was with a kid when he threw a PS2 controller and cracked it open. We taped it up and it was good to go. Same kid's brother put his fist through a TV. Must run in the family.

I've never broken anything from video game frustration...I generally never got frustrated from them...whenever I felt like a game was wasting my time, I would just stop playing it and do something productive instead.

A few different controllers and a few CD games.

I've taken controlers apart with full intent to put them back together before and forgot how, same for a few systems as well.  The only thing I've ever truely broke wasnt truely by me, but by my cousin.  When he'd come over to spend the nite he'd be playing my gameboy system and would be so into it he wouldnt notice when I came in the room.  After a few moments I'd slowly creep up behind him, yell out his name, and goose em something good on his back.  Generaly from a sitting position he'd clear a good foot or two, while the system would do a good 4-5 feet in the air.  It wasnt a pretty sight but damned if it didnt make for great entertainment.  The poor GB doesnt work as good as it should but it was a price I'm still willing to pay.  It still works atleast.

I remember, 15+ years ago, getting quite pissed at the left controller on my original INTV because the "enter" button, among a few others, stopped working. Think I hit it on the floor a few times. Nothing hard enough to smash it but just hoping to jar something back into position. At least I think that's why. I'm probably "filtering" the memory and it was more like a frenzied rage.  :P It still doesn't work. I'm using a different system now. That's the bad thing about controllers being hard wired to the console.
Now days I treat all of my game goodies as if they were made of fine crystal. I wouldn't dream of causing any harm to them whatsoever. The arms to my recliner do tend to get a fair amount of pounding from time to time though.  ;)

no, but once I tossed an n64 controller in disgust while playing Wheel of Fortune with my cousin. I had a good amount banked already, and landed on the jackpot space. The answer was "A Real Crowd Pleaser" but I had put "A Real Cloud Pleaser" instead. I uttered something prolly unmentionable to young ears and tossed the controller at the console. It hit the restart button and we started to play again.

He was winning so he wasn't too happy about it, plus it was his controller I threw and his system I threw it at.

Broke a controller when I was younger.  I think it was from playing Spot on NES.  Talk about a frustrating video game.

I chose went postal on my entire set, it was my brother though.  we were playing SNES on a portable laptop type DVD player and he ruined a controller AND the cheap-ass tv.  luckily the system wasnt hurt

Broken a genesis, and i think only a SNES and Genny controller.
I don't even want to try and figure out how many controllers my little bro has gone thru during the playstation era...
I think himn buying shitty cheap ones was what helped his numbers get so high though.

Almost broke my PS2 controller last night playing one of the final missions in Medal of Honor: Underground when a swarm of Nazi's getting blowing me apart with their goddamn rocket launchers.  My frustration and anger quickly subside though and I usually end up laughing about and swearing revenge on my virtual enemies.

when i first was getting into Guilty gear X wasnt really great at the end bosses. i got so flustered i twisted an official ps2 contoller to the point where i bent the plastic near the cord. i didnt break it though. With all the wireless controllers i use now i have to be carefull of wanting to throw things.

cant say i have ever broken anything in frustration, if its pissing me off that much hit the power button and play something else is always better for me.

Have thrown a few controllers to other people while playing and they've missed but nothing broken.

A few years ago i had a friend that had a nasty habit of twisting the PS1 pad when losing at Tekken 3, it never broke but made some nasty cracking noises!

Playstation controllers break all the time, in my experiences. They surprisingly can take very little damage. I have broken 2 or 3 of those, but not my wireless (luckily).

nope never broke anything...

I've done the twisty crack thing to PS, PS2, SNES, Genny controllers.
More than a few times.
