Title: Sega CD/Gensis help Post by: NES_Rules on June 07, 2007, 07:04:00 PM I'm finally getting around to hooking up my Sega CD. But it has no cords or installation instructions of course. I have a set of the red and yellow cords but no AC adapter for the CD, I've heard a Genesis one will work, but I've got several Genesis AC adapters and it seems like they all have different outputs, so what does the CD's original one say? On the back of the CD, the red and yellow jacks say left and right output, but where do they go? Are they for sound or picture? What's the jack labeled "mixing"? Do I need that? I'm totally lost on this one.

Hope this helps. Title: Re: Sega CD/Gensis help Post by: James on June 08, 2007, 07:37:36 AM On the back of the CD, the red and yellow jacks say left and right output, but where do they go? The video output you use is still the one on the Genesis. Red and white are phono RCA connections and go to a hifi or other sound equipment with phono inputs for stereo sound. "Mixing" is probably for a 3.5mm jack, like on headphones. Title: Re: Sega CD/Gensis help Post by: NES_Rules on June 11, 2007, 05:58:41 PM Thanks guys, I got it all straightened out and working ;D
Title: Re: Sega CD/Gensis help Post by: Cobra on June 12, 2007, 05:31:55 AM Glad to hear it,
hope you playing it. Games like Sonic CD and Snatcher are definitely recommended. Title: Re: Sega CD/Gensis help Post by: shaggy on June 12, 2007, 08:34:24 AM Which games are you playing/have played? Sonic is awesome and I, personally, like the movie type games noone else liked.
Title: Re: Sega CD/Gensis help Post by: NES_Rules on June 12, 2007, 03:47:03 PM The only ones I have are Sewer Shark and Afterburner 3. I haven't played either yet though. I'm still working on finishing up my game room.
Title: Re: Sega CD/Gensis help Post by: Marriott_Guy on June 12, 2007, 05:55:07 PM Shaggy - Sewer Shark got beat up in a number of gaming reviews, but I think it might be worth checking out. It is a little corny at times with the over-acting during the FMV cuts, but overall it is pretty fun IMHO (not too mention really cheap to get).

Not the only one, but one of just a few. I absolutely loved the FMV games on Mega-CD. Digital Pictures rocked, and I got my anime fix from WolfTeam games before anime became a common thing outside Japan. |
