It really does go both ways. It's easier to make both rotation directions out when you look at something else and use your peripheral vision. You can make it go both ways quite easily.

I am missing something from the first pic. It always looks clockwise to me.

Try focusing on something past your monitor, but still keeping the image in sight. That helps to control which way you see it. If that makes sense...

Nope still got nothing. Just clockwise.

It took me a long time to get it to go the other way. I suppose it might be impossible for some people to see it spin the other way.

Try watching the shadow.

That did it. Very strange.

I've looked at this about 5 times and I still don't see it.

Still counter clockwise, in the shadow, the second leg comes up into the image from the right moves long left, then drops out of it there.

When I looked at it yesterday it was going clockwise, I couldn't see it any other way. But today it's going anticlockwise. Weird.

It's so hard to believe that those squares are actually the same shade of gray  :o ???

^ I didn't believe that until I cut apart in Paint. Very impressive!

It's the strangest thing, isn't is? Our minds really try to force us in believing square B is much lighter than square A.
