Title: Gaming Figures/Statuettes
Post by: James on February 01, 2008, 04:32:37 PM
Does anyone have any gaming figures? I was thinking of buying a Gears of War 7" Marcus figure. I was going to buy a Hitman Agent 47 7" figure a while ago but by the time I made my mind up they had sold out.

Play.com Link (http://www.play.com/Gadgets/Gadgets/-/835/1051/-/3593973/Gears-Of-War-Series-1-7-Figure-Marcus/Product.html?searchtype=genre)

Or for pictures click here. (http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/photos/gears-of-war-action-figures-1/600522/)

I have some, actually most of them are gashapon. I have all the Soul Calibur girls they made (its funny how in the world of gashapon you usually only find girl figures.) I also have the Mega Man X and Zero models, a Monika figure from Growlanser 3, a Link action figure (sword and shield are missing) and a Eddie figure from the Megaman series. I ordered the Castlevania ones but I'm still waiting for them.

I have a Mega Man X Command Mission figure and a pokeball with a Pikachi snap together inside, also a Banjo Kazooie figure that I think had the DK racing kart with it at one time, I bought it loose from a thrift store.

I have a bunch of Gashapon.  Some from Armored Core, some from anime series later turned games.  Got a bunch of macross stuff and even some a dead or alive (kasumi) figure.

I've ordered a Kratos one for £5 on play.com (http://www.play.com/Gadgets/Gadgets/4-/3437094/-/Product.html?searchstring=kratos&searchsource=0#)  but it's not as nice as the first round of Kratos figures.

My mouse is hovering over the Marcus - Gears of War figure button. It comes out in four weeks so I'm not sure if I should order now or nearer its release. If I wait I'll probably forget or they'll run out quickly. Once again I'm thinking out loud about what I should buy... :-\ They do look quite nice though.

I see they have some 7" Zelda figures for a mere £55-70! "Highly limited to only 2,500".

Edit: I don't think my dearest mother and father would aprove of me driving a 200 mile round trip to get this. (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Metal-Gear-Solid-Life-Size-Snake-Statue_W0QQitemZ220198366764QQihZ012QQcategoryZ159QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Is that the one you handbuilt from wood? I remember that, it was great! Were they like a storage chest or something?

I ordered the Gears of War - Marcus and Locust figures. I can always cancel them within the next four weeks. Over here money generally doesn't get taken until the point of sale, which is usually when they dispatch the goods.

Yeah, the NES is for storage.  It is now in my game room and has my new 50" plasma sitting on top with all my game consoles on the inside :D

pics are in the link if anyone wants to take a peek.

I have a bunch of Final Fantasy 8 figures.  I have all of the playable characters, and 4 or 5 of the summon monster figures.

I also have a Legend of Zelda trpphy figure from back when the game was first released.  Here's a link to a picture of it:  http://www.zeldaelements.net/games_main/1/merchandise/figure_2.jpg
Mine isn't boxed though.

I got my Kratos figure today. :D Not bad considering it was bought from an off-shore website and it was dispatched on Monday. It looks good but the stand is a bit rubbish. It only has one pin to stick in his foot and his legs don't line up properly so one foot is off the ground. [Edit: It turns out his legs were stiff which is why they weren't moving. A bit of force loosened them up so now he's standing properly.]

I had a laugh at the packaging with the warning "Not for children under 3" I'm sure 4 year olds would love it.

I never actually seen one of those Zelda trophies around. I have seen a few of the Mario ones, I have on too but its kinda beat up and dirty. I recently found some old Beavis and Butt-head figures so I have all my Soul Calibur ladies closing in on them. A "this is what happens when you tick off the wrong women" type of scene.

I have a few happy meal figures, some sonic ones from the early 90's, I also have some zelda figurines of link, zelda and ganon (link is supposed to have his sword and shield but his shield was lost long ago) that I got from a friend for free.  I guess there kind of rare, I saw the same link and ganon go for $30 together on ebay.

The Gears of War figures have finally been released some time recently.

Now should I spend £30.50 on the set of four, or should I save every penny for the car?

LINK (http://www.play.com/Gadgets/Gadgets/4-/5274434/Gears-Of-War-Series-1-Box-Set/Product.html) but it's in stock elsewhere for a lower price anyway.

The four figure set is now sold out everywhere I can think of, but I'm thinking of buying just the Marcus figure on its own for £8.

Other figures I'm interested in are
Hitman - Agent 47
God Of War - Kratos - Golden Fleece/Athena's Blades

it is cool to see 'em again.

I don't have any game figures, unless I can get some PSO ones, but for now I do have some anime ones.

I have Space Adventure Cobra ones and an Naomi of Armitage III.

My Gears of War figure came today. I opened the blister pack and undid the cable ties. Then I tried pulling the figure out but it was very tight. Somehow the foot snapped off.  >:( I don't know if it was already loose or if the force needed to pull it out of the plastic was too much. I contemplated sending it back but decided I may as well just glue it. :-\

The detail is very good and it feels pretty solid. It's just a shame it's broken. I'll get pictures soon.

I hate when they brake so quickly like that, I bought an Ivy figure and almost broke it trying to switch between her wip sword and normal one.

I got these in the post from ebay today. It was £19 for the bundle of 3.

First one opened:

Kratos' hands fell off as soon as I touched them, and I couldn't work out how to attach the flames because the holes to fit the pins in are so small and blend in well with his forearms. I think the blades come off the flames so he can hold them in his hands.

Next was Agent 47:

Lots of little pieces I'll have fun losing in the carpet. I was disappointed it doesn't have twin silverballers. The suit looked a bit dusty or rubbed.

Then Lara Croft:

One eye is red and the other is smeared, like she's been crying or has hayfever. Nothing spectacular.

God almighty these characters are so boring when you put them all together. They look like extras in a cartoon or enemy characters in some beat em up...don't even get me started on no chested Lara. When was the last time Croft done the British flag....I mean really now???

Also the new TR games don't count :speechless:

Agent 47 looks like he has down's.

I was super excited when you said you got 47 -- I was going to eye one; I wonder if they have one that doesn't look retarded?

Also, no ballers?  What's the point?

EDIT:  I ended up buying a 47; I love this guy and couldn't resist.  He didn't look as bad I guess as I originally said.  Lara on the other hand?  Someone please call the battered women's hotline...

I have ALL of the Kotobukiya one-coins for Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss, and Tales of Phantasia (including the stone versions). I need to get the larger scale ToP and ToA figures. They're releasing Lion in October.

Also have Quake II figs, the Dragon Quest VIII Play Arts (all four), tons of gashapon (mostly Mario, Zelda, Mega Man, and Dragon Quest). Earthworm Jim action figures, Mega Man action figures, Halo 2 & 3, Mega Man model kits, and video game related Hot Wheels cars. Oh and the Halo Actionclix (near complete s1). Also have some E3 and Comic Con promo figs.

My hubby collects Star Wars figs. He has sealed figs from every generation of figs ever released. Some of them he's had since he was a kid.

The regular series or online? The only non online one I know of (and have) is Nei from the Sega Gals set.

I have WAY too many figures/gashapons. Some favorites include Nei from Phantasy Star 2, Arche from Tales of Phantasia (Real big) Dragon Quest 8 set of all 4 characters and Kefka from Final Fantasy VI.

Oh, and I have a huge Bahumut, but damn if I can't get it together (seen in the following pic)

And if you can name the game being played in the backround you get some major points lol.

I almost forgot - I do have one other I got a couple of years ago, though this was someone's homemade custom job.  I don't know if there are any "real" Katamari toys out there, but they'd be lucky if they were as awesome as this:

Hey, I have the entire set of Namco Collection (the ones Phosphor Dot Fossils posted pics of). The candies are pretty bitchin. They came in two flavors - ramune and lychee. I bought mine in 05. They turn up on occasion on YJA and ebay. If you're interested in picking them up, go with YJA. Even with shipping and middleman fees they'll be cheaper.

I went in with a friend and pre-ordered a few boxes of Tales of Destiny/Destiny II one-coin figures. I'll surely have the full set :D

I wouldn't go near a horror game until 2 years ago and I am 14!

All I can think of is eBay or maybe toywiz or some other site like that.

This is the German flag:

As you can see it's not exactly the same as the Belgian one. :)

To be honest I don't really like neither. I find the colors quite invasive to the eyes, I'd prefer something with some green or blue in it. :P Oh well.
