Title: My find of the year (so far...) Post by: BadEnoughDude on May 11, 2008, 02:33:33 PM First off, sorry for starting a new thread. I didn't want to muck up the 'small scores thread' with a bunch of pictures. Anyway...
I went out on a mission to find a suitable game to be the 650th unique game in my collection. I went to my local Pawn America first, figuring they might have a decent PS2 RPG or two. Turns out they had something much better than that. Guides for $4 each. Chrono Trigger goes for $50 regularly. Game and guide for $24. The guide is really nice, and the game is pristine. Looks like it's never been opened. Game and guide for $24. Again, the guide is great and the game is pristine. Game for $25. This one is in better shape than the Silver Star Story that I already have, so I'll probably keep it and sell the other one to recoup some of my expenses for the day. Game for $30. Absolutely mint. I have a sealed Arc the Lad Collection that isn't in this nice of shape. Really, really thrilled with these games. I haven't had a substantial PS1 find in a loooong time. The employee that helped me said these had been there for 4 days now. I cannot believe that they lasted so long. Title: Re: My find of the year (so far...) Wild Arms and Beyond the Beyond are immaculate, even the cases are spotless. The only thing wrong with Lunar 2 is a little bit of oxidation on the pendant, but even that might be able to be removed. Outside of that, it looks new. Lunar is similarly beautiful. The only thing on that is a pesky UPC sticker on the back of the box from when it was new. I haven't decided how I want to try to get it off yet. Simply peeling it doesn't work. I might have to just leave it on there :-/ All of the guides look brand new. There is a small chunk of spine-labeling that is missing on Chrono Trigger, but otherwise it looks like it's never been opened. The Beyond the Beyond guide is hilarious. It's written like a story (much like the Secret of Mana guide). It has NO pictures. Just pages and pages of writing :) Title: Re: My find of the year (so far...) Post by: SparkB on May 11, 2008, 09:04:32 PM Hey man good find!, although i do not know much about the ps1 stuff, the stuff seems in awesome good shape. I have yet to find a deal at any pawn shop, where i live there is id say 1 pawn shop, (small town in canada lol) but the prob is their prices are insane, no deals to be found. A game like mario 3 nes would be 10$ and most n 64 games are 15$ to 20$, so really ebay is better than them. I ALSO have yet to go to yard sales, i have truly never been to a yard sale searching for a game, since i do not have a vehicle, so there is probably some very sweet deals im missing from time to time. Im waiting for that day i come across bubble bobble 2 or fire n ice for cheap ahhaa but we can all dream eh ?

Im waiting for that day i come across bubble bobble 2 or fire n ice for cheap ahhaa but we can all dream eh ? This place usually overprices things, too. Super Mario 3 is usually $20, for reference. They miss a few things every once and a while, today being a prime example. Just a word to the wise, you'd be doing yourself a favor if you did a little research on what PS1 games to look for. Prices for this system are out of this world. Look at what games like Valkyrie Profile, Lunar 2, Intelligent Qube, Einhander, Suikoden I & II, Tales of Destiny I & II, Tactics Ogre, Brigandine, Persona and Final Fantasy VII go for. It's pretty amazing. Out of the games I got, Wild Arms and Beyond the Beyond aren't that sought after, but Lunar 1 and 2 are both quite collectible and hard to find wholly complete. I put up my extra Lunar 1 today, and I shouldn't have any trouble getting $60+ for it. Title: Re: My find of the year (so far...)
