I'm making a Sonic game checklist. If anyone can pitch in and post any games/variants that I have overlooked, that will be much appreciated. All are NTSC for now. I may make PAL and NTSC-J sometime in the future. The g, b, and m are game, box, and manual.

I'm starting to update it with my inventory...

I know Spinball was packed in with the Genny for a while,... don't know if it was marked not for resale or not.

I didn't realize that there were so many damn Sonic games. Jeepers.

Well I guess if you really wanted to be a completest then you could add the other SMS Sonic games. They weren't released in this country, but they work on US systems. I know there's at least Sonic 2 and Sonic Chaos on the SMS.

Did you guys in the US get the rerelease gold titles? If you did, there is another repacked version of Sonic for you, and maybe Sonic 2, I'm pretty sure that went gold.

We did not get repacked as Gold titles. Sonic 3, however got packaged as a 'sega-all-stars' game. This I have included in the list. Thanks, though!!

The main ones I see missing are those that feature secondary or minor characters, and the ones from Japanese Arcades.

There are some errors in that sonic central checklist. Sonic 2 wasn't realeased in the states on the sms, for example. Thanks for the missing games update, though!!

The sad thing is, more than half of those Sonic games are absolute trash.

That's usually what happens when you try to milk a franchise for too long.

On second thought, that's not always true...there are long-running franchises that still do good. The truth is Sonic didn't make a smooth transit to 3D.

I would have to disagree. Sonic Adventure is brilliant for a 'entering of the 3D Fray', and SA2 is even better. Sonic Heroes isn't good, Sonic and the Secret Rings is Okay, and the new one is almost Okay. Sonic is still going strong. Look at the new game for the DS. I've heard it was (and is) really good. :)

Do a lot of people share that opinion?

My top 3 sonic games would be...
1. Sonic the Hedgehog
2. Sonic & Knuckles
3. Sonic Adventure 2: Battle

In my opinion, Sonic didn't start to go downhill until after SA2:B.  Sonic Heroes is probobly my least favorite in the entire series.

But I think there is still potential for another great game.

another sonic related game is sega superstars tennis, but idk if you are doing games with sonic not as the main character?

Well there is Wacky Worlds: Creativity Studio.  It looks like Mario Paint on the Genesis.  It has Sonic and Tales on the front painting.

Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection has Sonic games on it. There is also XBLA downloads of Sonic 1 and 2.
